Hugh Grant Reacts to ‘RHONY’ Star Luann de Lesseps’ Hot Hamptons Makeout Claim
Did they or didn’t they? Bravo star Luann de Lesseps claimed that she and Hugh Grant started “heavily” making out after taking shots at a Hamptons restaurant over a decade ago.
So, what does the Notting Hill star have to say about the RHONY alum’s tale? The actor responded directly to the story and weighed in about what happened (and what he could remember).
“Steady on. I do remember meeting a charming RHNY in a restaurant, but I’d like to stress it was about 15 years ago. I don’t recall shots or kissing but her memory might be better than mine,” he wrote on X.

In an interview with Too Fab, de Lesseps revealed she decided to flirt with the actor by sitting behind him at the restaurant and “accidentally” bumping into him while pushing out her chair. She apologized to the Four Weddings and a Funeral star and offered to buy him a shot.
According to the reality star, they began “taking shots and making out … heavily at the table.” She added, “My brother was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re making out with Hugh Grant,’ and I was like, ‘Neither can I.'”
The Heretic star has been married to Anna Eberstein since 2018. While he was a guest on the SmartLess podcast, Grant recalled meeting his now-wife at a bar in London.
“To my great surprise, while I was being pretty drunk for a few years in London about 13 years ago. The bar I used to hang out at, there was this hot Swede at the other end of the bar. And it was her,” he said. “She’s an athlete, she was very nearly a pro tennis player but she’s just too angry. We got closer and closer and then we started breeding and now we’re married. She’s very much the man in the family.”
The couple has four children together. Grant also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
