“When working on Will, I wanted to bring out that tenderness and strip away the violence,” the actor told GQ. “He’s an intelligent guy — someone who’s learned from life itself. He had a destructive side, but we eventually understand why. When you’re a teenager, you have to make mistakes, break things, and screw up. And it’s great that he finds redemption later on, because it’s all part of growing up.”

Because, in the end, you become a topic of conversation — at birthday parties, among other parents… His father being the center of attention isn’t something he ever asked for. And I don’t want him to feel like there’s anything special about his dad.”
