Simone Ashley knows exactly what she’s looking for in a romantic partner.
The Bridgerton star shared what she’s manifesting in the love department during her appearance on Netflix’s On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast. In the episode, which aired on July 29, Ashley also explained her views on relationships in general.
“[I’m] manifesting love itself to be really simple, and I think that is someone I can experience joy with, someone that I can be myself with, someone that I can learn something from and learn about myself from,” the 31-year-old told Shetty. “I really want to meet someone that believes in my dreams and has dreams of their own where they’re not afraid to step in and just go for it, you know?”
Ashley — who was photographed kissing businessman Tim Sykes at September 2025’s US Open — went on to clarify what those “dreams” were. She didn’t mean having a big house or anything of that nature. “It’s much simpler than that,” she explained. “I think it’s just finding someone that doesn’t see it so complicated to do life with me, where it’s just you have an amazing connection, an amazing friendship, and just is curious and excited to give that a go.”
Despite knowing what she wants, Ashley said she doesn’t know exactly what she’ll get relationship-wise. “I think it’s gonna be a surprise to me what lands,” she said.
She also gave some insight into how she feels and acts when she has a special someone in her life. “It’s a joy to make time for my friends,” Ashley said. “It’s a joy to make time for my partner. It’s a joy to organize things and plan around my work schedule. I’m the type of person when I wrap up work, I’m so excited to go home to my partner and see them, share my day, spend time with them.”
Ashley admitted that everyone probably feels that way, but “to have that joy and excitement, to make time and make memories and all of those things, it comes from a place of capacity.”
The actress continued, “And I think I really believe in myself and I believe I deserve that kind of love. I believe I deserve that kind of life. And that self-belief has led me to where I am in my career. And I think maybe I’ve had experiences where maybe there’s a mismatch in that capacity. I think it comes from a place of self-belief. If you believe that you deserve all those things, that happiness, that joy, you will make it happen.”
Before she was linked to Sykes, Ashley dated businessman Constantin Klein. They met in May 2022 at the Grand Prix in Monaco, per Vogue. In early 2025, Ashley revealed that she was in her “single era” during an appearance on BBC’s Woman Hour podcast.
