Scott Baldwin’s daughter, Serena Baldwin, is making her way back to Port Charles! Kelly Kruger will make her General Hospital debut as the beloved character, who was previously played by Carly Schroeder, in the July 30 episode. Serena has a long history with Port Charles, dating back to the early 1990s.

The character has a complicated family tree, too. Now that Serena is going to have a major presence in Port Charles, Swooon has done a deep dive into her fascinating history. Here’s a guide to her parents, siblings, and more.

Who is Serena Baldwin’s mother?

Serena has two moms. Dominique Baldwin (Shell Danielson) is her biological mother. Dominique and Scott (Kin Shriner) had a drunken weekend in Las Vegas and got married. The pair intended to get divorced, but they ended up falling in love. However, these two didn’t get a happily-ever-after. Dominique was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and given just months to live.

Dominique wanted to have a baby before she died, and that’s where Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) entered the picture. Lucy agreed to be the surrogate for Dominique and Scott. Dominique died before Lucy gave birth to Serena, who was named after Dominique’s family estate, Serenity. Following Dominique’s death, Lucy stepped into the mother figure role in Serena’s life.

When Serena returns to Port Charles, she’ll have quite the reunion with her mother, Lucy. As of now, GH hasn’t announced any plans to bring back Scott, who was last seen on the soap in 2024.

When was Serena Baldwin born on General Hospital?

Lucy gave birth to Serena during the General Hospital episode that aired on December 7, 1993. Scott, who helped deliver his daughter during a snowstorm, soon left Port Charles with baby Serena to protect her from mobsters. Dominique, who came from a very powerful and wealthy family, had left Serena and Scotty a fortune, so they had a huge target on their backs.

Things got a little messy after that. When Scotty returned to Port Charles (this time on the GH spinoff series, Port Charles) without Serena, he accused Lucy of kidnapping her. (She didn’t.) There was also a period where Serena temporarily lost her eyesight following an accident with Lucy.

After all the drama settled, Scotty and Lucy got married and adopted a baby girl, Christina Baldwin. This happiness was short-lived. Christina’s biological mother was Julie Devlin (Lisa Ann Hadley), and there was an intense battle over Christina. Julie eventually fled town with Christina, and the strain of the ordeal led to Scotty and Lucy’s divorce. A dying Julie returned to town and gave Christina back, reuniting the child with Scotty and Lucy, who had since married Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom). Lucy, Kevin, Serena, and Christina took off for France a few years later.

Does Serena Baldwin have siblings?

In addition to Christina, Serena also has four half-siblings. There’s Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), who is the son of Dominique and Mac Scorpio (John J. York); Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), Scott’s son with Heather Grant (Alley Mills); Logan Hayes (Josh Duhon), Scott’s son with Jacqueline Hayes; and Karen Wexler (Marie Wilson), Scott’s daughter with Rhonda Wexler (Denise Galik-Furey).
