The ending of Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story felt like just the beginning of Alana (Hunter King) and Derrick’s (Tyler Hynes) love story. The couple fell in love surrounded by the fanfare of the Kansas City Chiefs and shared a romantic kiss on the field right in the middle of a game!

So, is Holiday Touchdown only in its first quarter? Could we see Alana and Derrick’s love story continue in a sequel? Swooon spoke with Hynes and King to get their take on the sequel game.

“Would they get married on the field, or would it be somewhere in the stadium?” King wondered. Hynes responded, “Oh, in the middle of the field… And the tagline would be like, ‘Tackling Love’ or ‘Tackling Marriage.'” (Or maybe they get married at the Super Bowl!)

The Three Wiser Men and a Boy alum added, “We’re all in. We’re writing it now.”

Both Hynes and King would be more than open to a Holiday Touchdown sequel. “It’s such a rare moment in time with such a rare convergence of cultures and people and brands and the time that we’re in, so I think if that were to materialize, you would have to do it,” Hynes noted. “Nothing will feel quite like this ever again. Maybe it’ll be different, maybe bigger, maybe better, maybe worse. Who knows? But definitely will never feel like this. I think if there’s a sequel on deck, Ed [Begley Jr.] will have to put up with us again.”

King added, “To get to work with this cast again would be incredible.” She specifically called out Ed Begley Jr., who played her grandfather in the Hallmark movie. “I adore each and every one of you so, so much. I mean, you know Ed’s my favorite,” she gushed.
