Kara and Mon-El forever! Some couples don’t like mixing their private and professional lives, but it seems that Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood enjoy the overlapped commitments.

After meeting on the set of Supergirl and eventually falling in love, the two are set to work on another project, Duo. The series, which has been picked up by NBC, has a script commitment and originally came from Warner Bros. Television, where Benoist’s Three Things Productions and showrunner Rina Mimoun are under overall deals.

The synopsis, according to Deadline, reads: “In Duo, when a soft-spoken, blue-collar worker (Wood) and a magnetic performer (Benoist) looking for her next break unexpectedly cross paths, their fateful meeting leads to a partnership that changes them both forever. The project is described as a family drama centered around a new two-person band and the disruption their rapidly rising career has on both their lives and the lives of those closest to them.”

If you’re a fan of the Prime Video adaptation of Daisy Jones and The Six, then Duo is probably going to be right up your alley. Both Benoist and Wood will be showcasing their musical skills. We can’t wait for the album!

Benoist, whose breakthrough role was in the wildly popular TV show Gleehas already shown off her singing chops on the small screen. Wood has also proven his talent with a stint in the Broadway version of Almost Famous. They previously combined their vocals at a Concert for America benefit.

The Supergirl alums met on the set of the show during its second season when Wood joined as a recurring character. However, they didn’t start dating until a year later in 2017. Two years later, they got married. In 2020, the couple welcomed their first kid, Huxley Robert, who is now 4.

Duo will be the first time the married couple has been seen onscreen together since Supergirl. Wood is also the one who wrote the concept of the show. This show also marks a reunion for Benoist and Mimoun, who worked together on Girls on the Bus.
