T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have been together for two years, yet this holiday season, the two will embark on a new chapter.

The former GMA3 anchors continue to open up more about their relationship, and this Christmas will include a notable first for the pair. After a complicated start to their romance, Holmes and Robach are ready to blend their families even more.

They will be spending their first Christmas together this year. Holmes and Robach already had a trial run at Thanksgiving. “This has been a long road coming,” Robach admitted on the Amy & T.J. podcast. “So we’ve been together for more than two years, and this was our first Thanksgiving that we got to spend actually together, and this is going to be the first Christmas Eve and Christmas morning we wake up together. But we did that for our daughters. We let them lead the way, and we wanted them to be ready before any of this started.”

Holmes has one daughter, Sabine, 10, from his marriage to Marilee Fiebig, while Robach has two daughters, Annalise, 21, and Ava, 18, and Andrew Shue. On the podcast, Robach revealed, “I’m really looking forward to recognizing how cool it is that we get to spend quiet time together, quiet time with our daughters for the first time since we’ve been together.” She added, “And so this is really big, important month, and I’m trying to remember and not get lost in the craziness of it all, but really try to remember how grateful I am that we’re at the place we’re at.”

The 47-year-old explained that he was thrilled to bring their families together for the holiday, especially since he has been spending a lot of time with Robach’s kids recently. He attended her daughter Ava’s play, and the pair took along Annalise and Sabine to iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball on December 13 for their red carpet debut.

However, he admitted that he still has some nerves about their first Christmas together. “I mean, you can’t help but be a little anxious,” the Holmes confessed. “You’re opening gifts in front of each other, you’re working up together on the most important of holidays to a lot of folks,” he said. “So, no, it’s just brand new. It’s brand new for everybody.”

Robach was quick to follow that with, “Thanksgiving went really, really well. So I’m very very hopeful about this Christmas week.”
