Maxton Hall — The World Between Us took the world by storm in 2024. Millions of viewers fell in love with Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbit-Matten) and James Beaufort’s (Damian Hardung) romance that unfolded as they attended the fictional school Maxton Hall. The German-language series became the most-watched International Original Series ever on Prime Video.
The show, based on Mona Kasten’s book trilogy, has already been renewed for Season 2, and the premiere is headed your way in 2025. Is there going to be a Maxton Hall Season 3?
Yes! Prime Video has officially renewed Maxton Hall — The World Between Us for Season 3. Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten will return as James and Ruby.

A third season had already been teased by Christoph Schneider, Country Director at Prime Video Germany and Austria. “We had a great IP, it was brilliantly made, we had a great — and not just the two main actors, who are outstanding, but also the others,” he told Deadline. “Everyone was really great, and that made this a unicorn show. The good news is we have three seasons.”
A spokesperson for Prime Video wouldn’t immediately confirm a renewal after Schneider’s comments, but the rep did confirm the streamer has options on all three of Kasten’s books: Save Me, Save You, and Save Us.
Is there a third book?
Yes, there is a third book in the Maxton Hall series: Save Us. The book was released in 2018 but hasn’t been adapted into English yet. The first two books in the trilogy, Save Me and Save You, have gotten re-releases in 2025.
What happens in Save Us?
Save Us is called “the grand finale” of James and Ruby’s love story. After overcoming countless obstacles, James and Ruby are seemingly in the clear when it comes to relationship challenges. However, James’ obligations to his family threaten his future with Ruby.
When is Season 2 coming out?
Maxton Hall Season 2 will premiere November 7. Production wrapped in September 2024.
It’s not going to be an easy road for James. “In the second book, it’s really dark for James,” Hardung told Swooon and TV Insider. “We’ve talked about his mom dying, and he’s really going through those dark places.”
