“We always wanted to do a quality show about aspirational folks of our age,” Michelle Obama exclaimed on The Jennifer Hudson Showand her vision sure paid off.

The former First Lady attached herself as a producer to the reality dating TV show The Later Daters. Wanting to give the older generation a renewed chance at love, the 60-year-old Becoming author revealed that she always wanted to go into the realm of unscripted media with her company, Higher Ground Productions.

While we love our messy reality shows like Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum, there’s something different about The Later Daters. So, is there going to be a Season 2? Are any of the couples still together? Scroll down to get the latest details.

Has The Later Daters been renewed?

The Later Daters hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but it is quite likely that the show will be renewed. The wholesome show focusing on pure love connections made Netflix’s Top 10 in the week of its release, with plenty of people talking about the genuine representation of dating at an older age.

The fans are, however, not the only ones who want to see the show return. Obama and Later Daters expert Logan Ury are waiting for its return. The How to Not Die Alone author spoke to Swooon and stated, “If Netflix wants to make a Season 2, I’ll clear my schedule.”

Are the couples from The Later Daters still together?

None of the couples from The Later Daters are still an item, but that is not to say that the matches made on the show haven’t worked out in some capacity.

Anise and Willie were one of the viewers’ favorite couples to watch. Yet, the two didn’t have an everlasting love. Still friendly to this day, Anise divulged to PEOPLE,  “We realized we don’t have enough in common to build anything on.”

This is in contrast to the other twosome that made it all the way to Episode 8, Suzanne and Avery. She said, “We are really, really good friends. I talk with him a lot. I’m still interested in seeing him.” She continued, “I would not say that we’re an item. I think he’s probably dating other people, and I’m seeing some other people too.”

And these aren’t the only success stories. Lori, who had a crush on date Felton during the filming of The Later Daters, is still close with him to this day. “Felton is my best friend now. Me and Felton are so close,” Lori told PEOPLE “We talk at least three times a week.”

How is The Later Daters different from The Golden Bachelor?

There’s not much that The Later Daters and The Golden Bachelor have in common besides focusing on older people, aka Baby Boomers, trying to find love again.

While the two shows have both been praised by viewers, The Later Daters prioritizes self-development and getting back out there over the more dramatic structure of The Golden Bachelor.

Not as binge-able as The Golden Bachelor, The Later Daters still allows you to get invested in the elders looking for a match.

Ury told Swooon that she loves the fact “that the show really demonstrates all different types of dates, from dates that you would never want to repeat to potentially the best date of your life. I think the show really shows the diverse experiences of dating, including the good, the bad, and the ugly.”
