Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover, Bravo’s former supercouple, have called it quits. Their breakup made headlines right before the new year when the Summer House star revealed the split to her fans, also known as gigglers, on her Giggly Squad podcast with Hannah Berner.

As news of the former couple’s dissolution unfolded, people were hoping Conover would share his side of the story, and now the Southern Charm original cast member has finally broken his silence.

Hopping onto his Instagram Story on January 7, the Sewing Down South co-owner began his update with, “I figured it’s finally time to check in with everyone. Sorry about the delay. This has all been very unexpected, to say the least.” He added, “Right before the holidays, I was very shocked, and it’s okay. It takes two people to be in a relationship, and you can’t control other people. You can only control how you react to it.”

This is in contrast to DeSorbo’s phrasing, who said, “Craig and I have decided to no longer be together.” However, she mentioned that he was the “best boyfriend” she had ever been with.

“I gotta start living again, whatever that looks like. Whatever my new normal looks like,” he continued. The 35-year-old shared, “Gratitude will get you through this, with time comes clarity, all of the advice I’m trying to listen to.”

Closing out his first video about the situation, he emphasized, “Remember to be kind to Paige and me and yourselves and all of that good stuff.” The influencer also gave him the same respect as she thanked him for being an amazing person, and even called him “one of the best people” she has ever met.

DeSorbo and Conover met while filming Winter House Season 1 in February 2021 and became official in the fall of that year. Both appeared in each other’s series. DeSorbo was spotted in Charleston for Southern Charm, and Conover traveled to The Hamptons for Summer House.

The two struggled with long distance. They couldn’t agree on a place to settle down. DeSorbo’s love for New York City was simply too strong, and Conover built a house in Charleston.

In Conover’s second video, he presented himself as more vulnerable, “I’m still processing everything, which is normal with a three-year relationship. It’s your best friend who you talk to all day every day and then they are just gone.”

After a few pauses, he said, “So, you know, one day I’ll be able to talk more on it, but right now I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind messages. It has been really nice to read them.”

The Bravo stars admitted that he needs to take his own advice. “No one is ever not better off after a breakup, but I guess now I gotta practice what I preach and believe it,” he said.
