‘Special Forces’: Kayla Nicole Reveals How She Really Feels About Ex Travis Kelce’s Girlfriend Taylor Swift
Ex on the brain! Kayla Nicole discussed her past relationship with Travis Kelce in the Season 3 premiere of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test — and even dished about how she really feels about his highly-publicized romance with Taylor Swift.
While telling some of her castmates about her past during the Wednesday, January 8, episode, Kayla mentioned, “Me and my ex [were together] five years. Travis Kelce. He’s dating Taylor Swift.” She later added, “I just get a lot of s**t because he’s dating, like, a mega superstar. I really like her. I think she’s very talented.”

However, what Kayla doesn’t like is the negativity she’s been flooded with due to her prior relationship with the professional athlete. “I’m a confident person, but dealing with trolls and just hate online … I constantly feel like I’m in a state of vulnerability,” the influencer admitted. “I would love to be in a headspace where I’m just not affected at all. I’m doing this course because I want to remind myself that I’m capable of doing hard things.”
Kayla dated Kelce on-and-off from 2017 until 2022. “Going through a public breakup, just to be frank, is overwhelming,” she shared. “I’ve never been through anything like it. Being reduced to a headline — to something so small as someone’s ex-girlfriend — I feel like if I complete this, it will be a massive impact for myself.”
The NFL star moved on with Swift in 2023. While Kayla met with the Special Forces instructors in the premiere episode, they pulled up an article about past comments she made about the couple, which led to her receiving social media backlash.
“It’s pretty constant,” she told them. “Exhausting. [It happens] constantly. It doesn’t matter. I could post about the sky being blue and people will have a response about an ex and their new situation. It’s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person.”
Kayla also said that the “comparisons” between her and Swift are “on a loop” in her head. “I think I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it,” she said, later adding, “I’m proud of the mental fortitude that it’s taken for me to get here, but I want to be able to control my emotions. I’m definitely going to have to tap into that to make it to the end of this. For sure.”
