Can’t get over all the drama “chaos queen” Kitty Covey (Anna Cathcart) caused in XO, Kitty and wondering when she’ll be back at KISS with her friends (and potential loves)?

Lara Jean Covey’s (Lana Condor) younger sister knows how to cause a scandal or two. Remember, she was the one who sent out all the letters in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. In the spinoff series, she’s already gotten herself into messy situations. Just like her older sister, she’s had quite a few crushes. From her Season 1 boyfriend, Dae-heon Kim (Choi Min-young), to her frenemy-turned-lover Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), to even her best gal pal Yuri Han (Gia Kim), Kitty has a way of making everything just a tad complicated — and we love her for that.

So, after that Season 2 cliffhanger, what’s next in Season 3? Swooon is breaking down the latest Season 3 updates.

Will there be a Season 3 of XO, Kitty?

There will be another season of XO, Kitty! Netflix announced the show’s renewal on Valentine’s Day.

“I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama…just wait,” XO, Kitty showrunner, executive producer, and writer Jessica O’Toole told Tudum. “I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure…and kissing. Lots of kissing.”

The streamer also released a video of the cast celebrating the renewal news. “Roses are red, violets are blue, there’s a third season of xo kitty in store for you!” the caption read.

XO, Kitty was always slated to be a popular show, as fans of the Jenny Han Netflix universe were obsessed with Cathcart’s character when she first appeared in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and its sequels.

When Season 1 dropped on May 18, 2023, it didn’t even take a full month before it was renewed. On June 14, 2023, Netflix officially confirmed that Kitty & Co. would be back for another semester at KISS (Korean International School of Seoul).

Is there a Season 3 premiere date?

No. The show has been renewed, but there’s no Season 3 release date set.

The third season could potentially hit Netflix in 2026. XO, Kitty premiered in May 2023, but the second season didn’t premiere until 17 months later. Like most Hollywood shows, the series was delayed because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which were in effect consecutively from May until November 2023 (WGA from May until September, SAG-AFTRA from July until November).

Who will return for XO, Kitty Season 3?

The series wouldn’t be the same without its lead character, Kitty, so you best believe Cathcart will be back for the third season.

Alongside Cathcart, other main cast members including Lee, Kim, Min-young, and Anthony Keyvan are expected to return. Peter Thurnwald and Regan Aliyah would likely be back as well, along with newcomers Audrey Huynh, Sasha Bashin, and Joshua Lee.

Although Huynh’s character Stella was plotting Min Ho’s dad Mr. Moon’s (Philippe Lee) downfall in the universe of XO, Kitty there’s always space for a character arc in the next season to make her a better person.

Will Lana Condor return in XO, Kitty Season 3?

Lana Condor has previously mentioned that she would love to make a cameo in XO, Kitty, and it sadly hasn’t been able to come to fruition in the first two seasons. Maybe, the third time really is the charm? Here’s to hoping!

“I would definitely never say never [to returning],” she told The Wrap. “I mean, I think it’s pretty clear that I love the To All the Boys world and have dedicated a lot of my young adulthood to it. To me, that world feels like home.”

LJ’s boyfriend, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), popped up in Season 2 to spend some time with Kitty in Seoul. He’s still the perfect TV boyfriend! Kitty’s other older sister, Margot Covey (Janel Parrish), also made another visit to the show.

What happened at the end of XO, Kitty Season 2?

After making her grandmother (Ae Yon Han), known as halmoni in Korean, reunite with her sister, Kitty’s karma got rewarded by receiving the news that her heritage scholarship got renewed.

But, that wasn’t even the only good thing Kitty accomplished. She also somehow saved Min Ho’s family from a complete press disaster.

With all of the happiness, you might be thinking that the series has wrapped up nicely with all your questions answered. But there’s still a cliffhanger! Kitty finally realized her feelings for Min Ho, but instead of telling him, she went out on a limb and asked to join him on Joon Ho’s tour. Will these two finally get together in Season 3?! Talk about the ultimate slow burn!
