‘The Bachelor’s Kelsey Anderson Shares New Details About Dad Mark’s New Romance
Kelsey Anderson has her own Bachelor Nation relationship with Joey Graziadei to talk about, but occasionally, she is asked about her dad, Mark Anderson. The Army veteran became a popular figure when he first appeared during his daughter’s hometown episode on The Bachelor, and his popularity grew when he looked for love on The Golden Bachelorette.
Not finding love with lead Joan Vassos, Mark began a relationship with One Tree Hill alum, Barbara Alyn Woods. Now, months after their romantic connection has been established, the 26-year-old is revealing some of her dad’s secrets regarding his new and very high-profile relationship.
“Mark is in a relationship,” she divulged on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “Her name is Barbara, and she is the best. She is super sweet.”
Kelsey also had nice things to say about the rest of Barbara’s family. “She has great daughters. We got to spend Christmas with them all together,” she revealed. Thrilled about her dad’s love life, there’s also an added bonus to his relationship with the Honey, I’ve Shrunk the Kids star — she lives in LA, the same place Kelsey and Joey relocated to. “So, I get to see him pretty often,” she said.
Trying to learn more about the couple, co-host Serena Pitt quickly followed, “How long has it been?” This surprised Kelsey, who didn’t know the exact answer. “I don’t know when they started dating, maybe like October,” she said before she began to count the months, “October, November, December, January, February,” and eventually she concluded, “Like five months or so.”
Not done with the topic yet, the three hopped onto the One Tree Hill aspect of it all. Anderson admitted, “I never watched the show, so I didn’t know, but I’m pretty sure one of my sisters did.” She continued, “It’s funny a bunch of my friends are big fans of the show, and they were freaking out.”
When prompted whether her dad needed any dating advice, she quickly shared, “No, I think my dad’s got it all figured out now. I feel like definitely him going on The Golden Bachelorette helped him a lot with kind of pushing himself to put himself out there.”
The Louisiana native also shared details about the beginning of their love story. “She reached out to him, and I think that at first they were just friends and then they started going on dates.” Loving their chemistry, she fondly stated, “Honestly, she does remind me a lot of my mom in the sense that she brings out the fun side of my dad. He’s more of like a quiet, calm person. She brings out a fun side of him and she’s just very vibrant, just like my mom was. So, yeah it’s special.”
