Ariana Madix Gives ‘Love Island USA’ Season 7 Update & Reflects on Season 6 Couples
The world was captivated by Love Island USA Season 6 last summer. The Islanders kept us on the edge of our seats with all the relationship drama in the villa.
No one was surprised when the show of the summer was renewed. Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix will be back as the host, and she shared an update with Swooon about what she knows about Season 7.
“Season 7 is coming. I’ll be a part of it. I’m very, very excited for it,” she said. “I don’t know anything about casting yet or anything. I’m actually dying to know. Producers will probably be harassed by me coming up very shortly because I want to know everything that’s happening.”
Madix was there to witness all the highs and lows between the cast members. She watched the love stories between Kordell Beckham and Serena Page (the winners of Season 6), Miguel Harichi and Leah Kateb, and Kenny Rodriguez and JaNa Craig blossom in and out of the villa. The host is proud that these Season 6 couples are still together today.
“I think that’s such a testament to how real these relationships are on that show,” she said. “I think Love Island is so incredible at creating true, lasting relationships. Maybe it’s the fact that there’s not pressure to get engaged at the end, right? No knock to The Bachelor series, but I think that sometimes maybe it’s best to just date. I think being able to do that has brought these couples into such a real relationship space.”
She added, “I love seeing that they’re still together. I follow all them on social media. I get so excited when I see that they’re hanging out or getting to go to the Grammys together. I just think it’s so great. I think that all three of those couples are absolutely lovely, and I wish them nothing but the best.”
In Madix’s eyes, Love Island is “the greatest dating show in all of television. I think it should be nominated for and win all of the Emmys, and I just think it’s the best. I might be biased, but I’m also right.”
