Amy Poehler Makes Red Carpet Debut With Boyfriend Joel Lovell at 2025 Oscars
Talk about a hard launch! Amy Poehler made her first red carpet appearance with new boyfriend Joel Lovell at the 2025 Oscars on March 2.
Poehler stepped out onto the Oscars red carpet with Lovell by her side. The couple posed for photos together, with Lovell sweetly putting his hand on Poehler’s waist. The Saturday Night Live alum looked gorgeous in a strapless black gown.
The couple started dating in the summer of 2024, according to PEOPLE. At the time, a source said they were “enjoying spending time together.” Since then, Poehler and Lovell have been low-key about their budding romance.
Lovell is a former New York Times editor, having served as the deputy editor of The New York Times Magazine. Lovell now works as the executive editor of Pineapple Street Studios and edits original podcasts.
Poehler was previously married to fellow comedian Will Arnett. They married in 2003 and separated in 2012. Their divorce was finalized in 2016. Poehler and Arnett have two sons together, Archie and Abel. She dated Nick Kroll for two years from 2013 to 2015.
The Parks & Recreation alum recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live. She reunited with pal Tina Fey and other former cast members at Studio 8H. Speaking of Fey, Poehler will be heading out on her Restless Leg tour with Fey at the end of March. They’ll be performing all across the country through June.
When promoting Inside Out 2 in 2024, Poehler opened up about her life and career in a rare interview. “Honestly, laughing has been very helpful for me,” she told The Guardian. “I know that sounds very basic, but we forget we can have a sense of humour about ourselves. We forget to laugh. We can take life and ourselves very, very seriously.”
