HGTV’s Ben & Erin Napier Reveal Surprising Details About Their First Kiss

It’s been more than 20 years since college sweethearts Erin Napier and Ben Napier first met in December 2004, but they still have vivid memories of their first date.
On this week’s episode of Home Town Takeover, the longtime loves reminisced about the first time they kissed while they were students at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi. Their trip down memory lane came after Ben surprised his wife with a peach soda while they were taking a break from their renovations.
“The night we went on our first date, we stopped at a gas station. He got a peach soda. Our favorite,” Erin shared. “My favorite and his favorite. And we shared it. We were headed back to the dorm, he was going to drop me off, and he said, ‘Would it be alright with you if I give you a kiss?’ That was our first kiss. It tasted like peach soda.”

Erin previously revealed the timeline of the early days of her relationship with Ben in an Instagram post. “On December 7, 2004 @scotsman.co and I met in our college yearbook room about the feature story we were writing about him. I was the design editor, and for two years had noticed him, always the center of attention, everyone’s best friend, my biggest crush,” she shared.
Things progressed quickly from there, as Erin added, “December 8, we took the photos for the yearbook. December 9, we went on our first date and he met my mama. December 10, we looked at the Christmas lights in Mason Park. December 13, we decided we would get married someday. It sounds crazy to you, maybe. But it makes perfect sense to me.”
After four years together, Ben and Erin went on to tie the knot in November 2008. Their daughter, Helen, was born in January 2018, followed by daughter Mae in May 2021.
