Justin Hartley Gives Rare Update on Marriage to Sofia Pernas & Reveals Their Favorite Date Night
Justin Hartley and wife Sofia Pernas will reunite onscreen in the upcoming March 30 episode of Tracker. Ahead of the episode, the actor opened up about his marriage to his former The Young and the Restless costar.
The couple started dating in 2019 following Hartley’s split from his second wife, Chrishell Stause. Hartley and Pernas tied the knot in March 2021, one month after Hartley and Stause’s divorce was finalized.
“I don’t know if I’d call it a love story, but there’s a romantic spark and chemistry between the two,” Hartley told USA Today of his Tracker character Colter Shaw’s relationship with Pernas’ Billie Matalon (she previously appeared in two episodes of the CBS series). “I enjoy being around her. I’m having the time of my life with this show. I love it. To be able to share it with the people you love makes it even better.”
When the two aren’t working, they spend their ideal date night in their home theater watching television shows including Paradise, The Night Agent, and even Tracker. “I figure, turn on all the sound in the dark room and get the whole immersive experience. That’s how these shows were designed to be watched,” Hartley explained.
Sometimes, the two are separated for work, but there’s no rules when it comes to their binge-watching.”I don’t have a problem if my wife tells me, ‘I watched six episodes of whatever we’re watching. It doesn’t bother me,” the This Is Us alum shared.
The couple also likes traveling to visit Major League Baseball parks across the country. “We have this really high-maintenance dog that doesn’t fly. So we put the dog in the back [of an SUV] and drive, and then we stay at hotels,” Hartley dished. “I love the game of baseball, and this gives me an excuse to go around the country and realize how big it is and see the different walks of life.”
