While Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover‘s relationship is still playing out on Summer House, in reality, these two have been apart for months. Breaking up right after Thanksgiving, the former Bravo crossover couple entered the new year single.

But that is no longer the case for the Southern Charm star.

Moving on from his three-year relationship with DeSorbo, the 36-year-old sat down with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and gave a major relationship update. Alongside Conover were his Southern Charm buddies Shep Rose and Austen Kroll.

The Sewing Down South founder was quick to surprise everyone in the audience, including Cohen, by sharing his latest relationship status as he talked about his new girlfriend. “When I date, I tend to date only one person at a time,” he divulged. “I’ve been seeing someone. I’ve been reminded that the universe works in crazy ways, and everything happens for a reason.” He did not reveal his girlfriend’s name.

This is the first time Conover has opened up about his dating life since his split from DeSorbo. The exes were initially said to be on friendly terms, but that hasn’t exactly held up. Both parties, as well as their respective casts, have thrown shade at each other in recent months.

Cohen probed Conover about his relationship troubles and even asked about the March 26 episode of Summer House when DeSorbo questioned if she was dating “a secret hater.” That scene was filmed months before the twosome ended things.

He quickly dismissed the so-called “made-up stories.” Conover explained his side by stating, “Her side of things convinced her that the breakup was going to go a certain way, and through choices she made after the breakup, things turned on her.”

Conover continued, “I haven’t done anything except try to move on with my life. I’m really happy in the chapter that I’m in.”

However, he wasn’t able to fully let it rest, as he then accused DeSorbo and “her band of friends” of sending “vitriol” his way.  Conover exclaimed, “I want to encourage America to never act like [them]. I think it’s disgusting.”

Conover didn’t mention that his Southern Charm friends have given her the same treatment. In January, DeSorbo hit back at Kroll for a previous appearance on Watch What Happens Live where he suggested she was dating someone new.

Not letting people run with that narrative, she replied in the comments of the WWHL interview clip, “Ahh yes a man I haven’t spoken To in 6 months knows exactly what I’m doing.”

On her Giggly Squad podcast, DeSorbo defended herself: “The narrative just took a turn really quickly: That I had cheated. That I broke up with him, like, a week ago and moved on with some new guy.” She added, “Let me say this here and now: I did not move on with some new guy. I’m single.”

The 32-year-old clarified, “I don’t have a new boyfriend. I did not cheat on my ex-boyfriend. And it was a full month that we were broken up and I didn’t say anything.”
