Are ‘Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple Still Together?
Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple fell in love on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette and even got engaged at the final rose ceremony. However, unlike Season 1 The Golden Bachelor couple Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner, who divorced in April 2024, they didn’t rush down the aisle.
However, Vassos and Chapple also made the surprising decision not to move in with each other after the show aired, leading many cynical viewers to wonder if there was any chance that they’d be able to actually make it work while maintaining a long-distance relationship.
So, have they made the love last? Fans have recently become concerned about the couple’s relationship because they’ve been spending time apart. On August 6, Vassos addressed fans about her current status with Chapple. Scroll down for what we know about Vassos and Chapple’s relationship today.
Are Joan and Chock still together?
Yes, they’re going strong! Despite living in two different states, Vassos and Chapple make sure to see each other at least every two weeks, if not more, and are often traveling together. While most of their trips are work-related — like their visit to Los Angeles for The Bachelor Season 29 finale in March — the getaways give them opportunities to see each other quite often.
While the couple does keep fans updated about their lives on social media, they’ve also been hit with questions about their status when they don’t post together as often. In a joint March Instagram video, Vassos confirmed, “People always doubt if we’re still together, and here we are. We’re still together, and we’re better than ever.”

Chapple added, “If we don’t post, people will go, ‘What’s going on?’ We don’t have to post every day. But we just wanted to let you guys know everything’s going great.”
In August, fans began to worry that Vassos and Chapple had broken up after they spent time apart on separate vacations. Vassos posted an Instagram video on August 6 to settle any and all anxiety head-on. She recorded the video from a cruise in the Mediterranean and said she was reading through her comments when she noticed the concern.
“It seems that a lot of you are worried that Chock isn’t here. And I just wanna make sure everybody knows Chock isn’t here ’cause he was on a graduation trip with his son. He bought him a nice trip for graduation. So he was on that, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring my friend Nancy instead because Chock was unavailable. It’s not because Chock and I aren’t together. We are. I actually really miss him, and I can’t wait to see him. In about 10 days we’re going to be together. We already have that flight booked, and we’re ready to be together.”
She added, “Chock and I are great. I miss him, and I love him, and we are still together.”

Chapple added in the comments, “Girls trip- I support this 1000%!!! My son, Tyler and I had a blast in Africa. We had this trip planned for 4 years and were delayed due to Covid and his college graduation last year. Tyler accepted a career job right after school and scheduling was a slight challenge due to the Joan’s show last year and a few commitments on my end. Have fun ladies and see you next week- love ya. C.”
Vassos and Chapple discussed their vacation plans in a June interview with Swooon. Vassos revealed that after their trips, they will be taking a joint family vacation to Disney World, which ABC gifted the couple. “They gave us a whole family gift, which was really nice. And then we both have a separate vacation, which is also fun,” Vassos said.
Where do Joan and Chock live?
Both Vassos and Chapple have kept their residences that they had before going on the dating show. She lives in Maryland, while he resides in Kansas. Even before The Golden Bachelorette began filming, Vassos made it clear that she would not be relocating for a partner because her kids, grandkids, and mother all live nearby. She has always been optimistic about the long-distance situation.
“People see this as a negative, I think it’s actually really fun,” she said on the I Do, Part 2, podcast in March. “I think it’s hugely positive for us right now. We get to have all of these really cool experiences together. I could see one day, maybe next year, the year after, five years from now, I’d be like, ‘Oh, it’d be nice to have you around, cook dinners together, live a more normal life,’ but right now, this is really fun and I’m not looking to change it.”
After The Golden Bachelorette finale aired in November 2024, the duo revealed that they were looking for a place together in New York City. While they don’t plan to officially move in there together, they want to use it as a getaway that they can share.
However, locking down a place in the neighborhood they want has not been easy. “We want to make sure that we’re in the right area,” Chapple said on the Dear Shandy podcast in January (SoHo is their neighborhood of choice). “Renting is challenging in the city, but it is what it is.” Vassos jumped in and added, “We’re trying. If I look at SoHo right now, there might be four places at the most, and probably one that fits our criteria with the number of bedrooms and what we’re looking for.”
When is Joan and Chock’s wedding?
They still don’t have a wedding date, but have insisted that getting married is definitely their end goal.
“What I want right now is to just be a couple,” Vassos said on the Rogue Energy podcast in February. “We have only been out in public for less than three months, so we’re still doing stuff that, like, beginning couples are doing [like] introducing each other to our friends. He only knows a few of my friends.”
A few weeks earlier, Chapple answered fan questions on Instagram and said about wedding plans, “Somebody today at lunch said, ’25?’ and I said, ‘Maybe at the end of ’25 or ’26.’ We’re having a lot of fun together just getting to know each other.”
In June, Vassos told Swooon, “I want to do something kind of small, mostly family, I’m thinking. I wouldn’t hate to do a destination wedding. That could be fun because everybody gets a vacation out of it and we get to celebrate with everyone for more than one night. I don’t think we have any non-negotiables, other than our family has to be there. They’re the most important people, obviously, so we would never, like, elope or anything.”
