‘Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner Confirms New Romance: Does His Ex Theresa Nist Know?
Gerry Turner has a new woman in his life! The Golden Bachelor star opened up about his love life while appearing on the Tuesday, April 15, episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast.
While he didn’t share too much about the relationship, he did reveal whether or not his ex-wife, Theresa Nist, whom he divorced just three months after marrying in 2024, knows about the romance.
“I am dating someone. I think, at this point, it’s going well,” Turner told hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt. “But I don’t want to say too much and jinx it. I’m trying to, respectfully, get to a point where there’s an acceptable amount of time from my divorce. Maybe that’s an old fashioned thought, maybe it doesn’t matter as much as I think it does, but to be respectful, I kind of want to slow roll this.”
However, he has told Nist. “It won’t be shocking news to her,” Turner confirmed. He also revealed that he shared the news with Nist after spending time with Joan Vassos and Leslie Fhima at After the Final Rose for Season 29 of The Bachelor in March.
“I asked for their advice. I said, ‘To be respectful, and to do the right thing, when should I talk to Theresa about this and let her know?'” Turner shared. “Their advice was to talk to her soon. So, on the car ride from the hotel to the airport after the AFR, the next day, I called Theresa. We had a really nice conversation. I let her know.”

Turner also said Nist is on his list to call in the next few days so he can get an update on whether she plans to appear on Bachelor in Paradise. He does not know if she’s currently dating anyone or if she wants to be on the show.
While he didn’t want to get into the details of how he met this new woman, Gerry did say he thinks he experienced “love at first sight” for the first time with her. “It was the look she gave me,” he gushed. “It was like … all of a sudden, I was consumed by this look. I had this actual physical feeling. I pushed it off. I was like, ‘Oh, that was silly, that’s ridiculous.’ And with every encounter, that feeling has instantly come back.”
He said the closest he’d ever gotten to that feeling in the past was when Faith Martin sang to him on night one of The Golden Bachelor, and he gave her the first impression rose.
Turner and his mystery woman have already started blending their families. The Indiana native shares two daughters with late wife Toni Turner, while his girlfriend has daughters of her own. They’ve met each other’s kids. “We’ve been around each other briefly and it’s been fun,” he confirmed. “It’s been a very enjoyable encounter.”
