‘The Challenge’: Did Averey Tressler Accept Adam Larson’s On-Air Proposal?

The Challenge: All Stars Season 5, subtitled Rivals, ended with a victory for Adam Larson and Steve Meinke, who started the season as constant elimination targets but worked their way back again and again and made it to the bitter end on top in Wednesday’s (April 16) finale. The two decided to split the $250,000 (no cutthroat purse-stealing this time), which meant they had something of a storybook ending after starting out at odds with one another.
But that wasn’t even the biggest thing to happen in the finale. Instead, it was the on-air proposal Adam Larson did at the tail end, asking girlfriend Averey Tressler to marry him on-screen and promising he’d be on one knee at home when the episode aired.
So does this story have a happy ending?
Yes! Tressler revealed on X (formerly Twitter) after the finale’s airing, “I said yes!!!” Tressler added of the unique way Larson popped the question, “OH. MY. GOD. Is this real life right now?! #shook #unreal.”

Larson gushed about his girlfriend, whom he met on the set of The Challenge: All Stars Season 4, that she was the best mother he could hope for to his two daughters, Hunter and Harlow, and that his pet name for her is “Avereything” as a nod to how much she brings to their family.
His proposal came after he and Meinke claimed victory in the final challenge, as he said, “First thing I’m going to do, and obviously Averey, if you’re seeing this right now, you might want to look to the left or right to make sure I’m on a knee, and so, babe, whereever I am in the room right now, what do you say? Will you marry me?”
Now we know it was yet another victory for Larson in pulling off a successfully bold proposal!
This isn’t the first time The Challenge has seen a televised proposal go down. Jordan Wiseley famously proposed to then-girlfriend Tori Deal during War of the Worlds 2 (she said “yes,” but the couple later split up and became just friends), and Tony Raines proposed to Alyssa Giacone during the reunion special for Final Reckoning (the two already had a child together and subsequently married in 2023).
