Are ‘American Idol’ Season 16 Couple Gabby Barrett & Cade Foehner Still Together?
Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner have the ultimate love story. They met as contestants on Season 16 of American Idol in 2018. She went on to finish in third place, while he was eliminated in the top five.
While fans noticed the chemistry between Barrett and Foehner throughout their season of American Idol, it was host Ryan Seacrest who finally exposed the relationship. For his top 10 performance, Foehner sang a rendition of “Kiss the Girl,” and Seacrest asked him if he had a specific girl on his mind while he was performing.
“Possibly,” Foehner responded, as cameras panned to a blushing Barrett in the lounge. The two admittedly weren’t planning on going public with their romance just yet, but the cat was officially out of the bag.
“I wanted to make a video with him of us singing together. And so I initiated it,” Barrett told PopCulture. “I didn’t think he liked me at first but then he texted me, and I was like, ‘Oh, I see what’s going on here.’ So it was a mutual thing, but I went after him first.”

Are Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner still together?
Yes, Barrett and Foehner are going strong! After their run on American Idol, the two wasted no time progressing their relationship. Foehner popped the question in March 2019 at a hotel in Los Angeles where they had spent a lot of time in the early days of their romance.
Just seven months later, the lovebirds tied the knot on October 5, 2019. The intimate wedding took place in Texas in front of 100 guests.
Barrett has been very open about how important faith is to her and her family. In fact, in 2023, she even revealed that she has turned down duets with male country artists because of her devotion to her husband.

“When you accept a song, there’s obligations that go along with it,” she said on the Unexpected With Hannah Love podcast. “What does that dynamic look like if I’m singing with another man? Is that gonna make my husband uncomfortable? Probably. I respect him and love him so much that I am not going to jeopardize my marriage to do a duet with somebody.”
On Valentine’s Day 2025, Barrett gushed over her husband on Instagram, writing, “Still loving, still laughing, still choosing you. Happy Valentines!”
Do Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner have kids?
Barett and Foehner are the proud parents of three children. Their first child, daughter Baylah May, was born in January 2021. In October 2022, Barrett gave birth to baby No. 2, son Augustine Boone. They added to the brood with a daughter, Ivy Josephine, in February 2024.

After Baylah was born, Barrett told E!, “Motherhood is definitely my top priority out of everything. She’s just my whole entire world now and so I’ve just been trying to figure out that balance of having time and spending time with her, and being a hands-on mom. And then, also performing and giving fans, and people that have been supporting me, what they want—new music, performances and all those things—so it’s been really fun. I am figuring it out right now.”
