Demi Moore Reveals What She’s Most ‘Grateful’ for in Bruce Willis Relationship
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have maintained an amicable relationship since their 2000 divorce. The exes share three daughters — Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah — and Moore has been by Willis’ side since he was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022 and then frontotemporal dementia in 2023.
In a new interview, Moore looked back on her time with the actor and revealed what she’s most “grateful” for about their relationship.
“That regardless of what the outside relationship has been, we have maintained being a family in various forms,” The Substance star told People. “The foundation of making our children our priority has never wavered.”
Moore joined her three daughters, along with Willis’ wife, Emma Heming-Willis, and their two daughters, in confirming the Die Hard star’s retirement from acting amid his aphasia diagnosis in 2022. While Willis has mostly kept out of the spotlight in recent years, Moore has shared some updates about his health with fans.
“We will always be a family, just in a different form. For me, there was never a question. I show up because that’s what you do for the people you love,” she told Variety in February. She also confirmed that she pays weekly visits to her ex. “I hope it’s encouraging for others to see that there’s a different way to do things,” she explained. “There is life after divorce. There is a way to coparent with love.”
Willis and Moore tied the knot in 1987 and separated in 1998 before finalizing their divorce in 2000. He and Heming-Willis wed in 2009.
In a December interview on CNN, Moore revealed, “You know, given the givens, [Bruce is] in a very stable place at the moment. I’ve shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely. It’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy. I mean, obviously, it’s very difficult, and it’s not what I would wish upon anyone, and there is great loss, but there is also great beauty.”
