Since everyone is about to be talking about Great Big Beautiful Life, Swooon is breaking down all the spicy moments so you can bookmark them — or avoid, if necessary!
Chapter 11 (Pages 103-104)
It doesn’t take long for Alice and Hayden to recognize the sexual tension between them. During one of their first outings, Hayden agrees to walk Alice home from the Rum Room. They share their first kiss in Chapter 11, but when Alice wants to further their rendezvous inside her rental, Hayden pulls back. He rejects because her because he doesn’t want to “hook up with someone whose dream job I’m about to take from them.”
Chapter 13 (142-143)
Try as they might, Alice and Hayden just can’t resist each other. When Alice’s situationship with Theo comes to a halt when he doesn’t show up, she tries to race home from the Fish Bowl so she doesn’t have to face Hayden. Ever the protective sort, Hayden refuses to let her go home alone. Turns out, he didn’t think she actually had a date. He thought she was actually inviting him in a roundabout way. Alice and Hayden wind up making out against her car.
Chapter 17 (183-184)
During a trip to Savannah, Alice and Hayden continue to push the limits of their relationship. They have an intimate moment on the street, but they stop themselves before going too far. Their willpower is impressive.
Chapter 18 (202-203)
Alice and Hayden take a trip to the beach, and things get heated, to say the least. These two go just far enough before pulling back. This moment is the steamiest of the book (so far), but Hayden refuses to budge on not going any further until Margaret makes her decision on who will write her book.
Chapter 24 (262-264)
At this point, Alice and Hayden’s resolve is hanging by a thread. They agree to “bend” their rules about not hooking up. This moment is spicy, with Hayden’s focus solely on Alice’s pleasure.
Chapter 26 (299-301)
These two still haven’t had sex yet. Alice and Hayden have two separate spicy moments on pages 299 and 301. While they don’t do the deed, Hayden does tell Alice that he’s in love with her. Spicy and swoony? Yes, please.
Chapter 30 (356-359)
Finally! It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Alice and Hayden finally go there, and Emily Henry doesn’t disappoint. Hayden is whispering he “can’t get enough” of Alice, and she’s telling him, “I feel like you’re mine. Like you’re mine in a way no one else has ever been.” A perfect blending of words and spice.
