Sharna Burgess Reveals Why She & Brian Austin Green Aren’t Married Yet
It’s been nearly two years since Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess got engaged, and the professional dancer gave an update on their plans to tie the knot in a new interview.
Burgess appeared on the Tuesday, May 6, episode of the Money Rehab podcast and discussed why she and her fiancé still haven’t gotten married, as well as their plans to have a second child. Burgess gave birth to their son, Zane, in 2022, while Green also has four kids from two other previous relationships.
“Our wedding is so far away,” Burgess shared. “We’re so busy, at least in these next 12 months, and what I do know is I want to go big with it. I want to be able to have all the money in the world to do all the things, fly my family [in] from Australia, and we’re not in that position right now to just blow all of that money on a wedding. So I’d rather wait for, like, a year or two for all these jobs we’ve got coming up and then be in a place where we can be like, ‘Let’s do the whole thing.'”
She later clarified that the wedding is “probably two years away” because she and Green want to have a second child first. The couple hopes that Burgess will be pregnant again by the end of 2026, and she doesn’t want to be pregnant or in the early stage of postpartum at her wedding.
Burgess and Green conceived their son naturally and unexpectedly (the Dancing With the Stars alum was on birth control at the time). With baby No. 2, they’re planning things much differently and will likely make sure they have a baby girl. “I think we’ll do gender selection and do IVF,” Burgess shared. “Because he’s five for five on boys. Who’s going to take that chance?”
So far, the pair has not discussed plans for a prenup, but Burgess acknowledged that it’s a “conversation [they] need to have” in the future. “It’s a great idea, but we have not done it yet,” she admitted. Luckily, they met through their mutual business manager, so they already have someone who can guide them through the process when they’re ready!
