Enter to Win ‘After’ Author Anna Todd’s Newest Romance ‘The Last Sunrise’
Anna Todd has the perfect read to kick off your summer romance reading list. Her newest novel, The Last Sunrise, was released on May 6 — and there’s already an adaptation in the works!
The Last Sunrise follows Oriah “Ry” Pera, a 22-year-old woman who’s stuck waiting for her life to truly begin. When her mother’s job takes them to Majorca, Spain, Ry views this as a new chapter.
Ry, who deals with chronic health issues, steps out of her comfort zone and crosses paths with a charming Spaniard named Julian in Majorca. Over the summer, Ry and Julian grow closer, and he opens up her sheltered world with thrilling adventures and exciting firsts. When the season comes to a close, Ry has to decide if she’s brave enough to branch out on her own and follow her heart.
The author skyrocketed to book superstardom with the release of the After book series, which she started on Wattpad. She released four After books as well as a novella. Her books were adapted into a popular film series starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Josephine Langford.
Since then Todd has published two Landon-centric books in the After universe and kicked off her Stars book series in 2022. She’s also started the media company Frayed Pages Media, which is producing the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover‘s Regretting You.
On The Last Sunrise’s publishing day, Todd announced that Maia Reficco will be playing Ry in the book’s film adaptation. “I’ve been aching to share that the lovely and insanely talented @maiareficco will be our Oriah in the film adaptation of The Last Sunrise!!!!!” Todd wrote on Instagram. “Filming will begin this summer and there’s MUCH more news to come, but I couldn’t be happier to share this with you on release date on the novel.”
Reficco, best known for playing Noa in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and Eurydice in Broadway’s Hadestown, commented on Todd’s post, “CANT WAIIIIIIIITTTT.” Our next question is: Who will play the handsome Julian?! Comment with your pick below.
