Is Kelly Clarkson Dating After Brandon Blackstock Divorce? Update on Her Love Life

It’s been more than three years since Kelly Clarkson‘s divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized, and the singer has spent most of that time focused on her career and kids (she shares daughter River and son Remington with Blackstock.)
Clarkson has not been publicly linked to anybody romantically since she split from her ex-husband in 2020, and she opened up about where things stand in her dating life now while appearing on Today With Jenna & Friends on Tuesday, May 6.
“I will say, I’m not not looking,” Clarkson said after admitting that she “hopes” she finds her “unicorn situation” with somebody one day. However, she also pointed out that there’s not much time for dating right now.
“I’m very busy,” the American Idol winner added. “You get this as a mom. I gotta focus fright now. There’s a lot of work, plus my kids’ schedule … I feel like it’s basically mine. I am running from my show to baseball practice, and I’m just trying to be there. It’s a lot. My mom will tell me, ‘Look, I was a single mom, I didn’t get to make everything, you’re going to be fine.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know if that’s okay,’ but I am just trying to be there for them. We’re a cute little unit.”
Still, Clarkson said she’s “trying to adult more” these days, which will include some time away from the kids on Mother’s Day weekend. “I have a couple shows, but my kids aren’t coming, so I get to be an adult with my band, have a drink, have adult time,” she pointed out.
Clarkson previously admitted that her kids don’t want to see her date anybody else. She was married to their dad for seven years before the 2020 split. In the exes’ divorce settlement, Clarkson was awarded primary physical custody of River and Remington.
