Bridgerton‘s fourth season may not arrive on TV for quite some time, but series director and executive producer Tom Verica is causing some fans to speculate about a potential spinoff series, especially after one star left a cryptic comment under a recent social media post.

“Little colorful S1 @bridgertonnetflix throwback w the OG Featheringtons and THE Queen,” Verica wrote on Instagram alongside two throwback images from behind the scenes of Bridgerton Season 1. “Big things coming. 😉 Just you wait. @nicolacoughlan @officialpollywalker @missbessb @harriet.cains @goldarosheuvel.”

The second half of Verica’s post, which teased “big things coming” with a winking emoji, is perfect fuel for the fandom fires to run wild with theories, but Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story star Connie Jenkins-Greig‘s comment, which included a bee and heart emojis, only added to the inferno. As viewers will recall, Jenkins-Greig played the younger version of Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), mother to the Bridgerton siblings.

While we wouldn’t entirely anticipate a second season of Queen Charlotte, Verica’s emphasis on “OG Featheringtons” is definitely interesting, making us wonder: Is a Featherington family spinoff on the way? Or could Jenkins-Greig’s comment hint at the long-hoped-for Violet and Edmund prequel? Perhaps the Featheringtons could play a role in a version of that story…

Some eagle-eyed fans also pointed out that Jonah Hauer-King is followed on social media by the casting agency that works with Bridgerton, and the actor has long been fan cast as the potential younger version of Edmund Bridgerton, the late love of Violet’s life. Again, this could all be coincidental, but fans have certainly picked up these tidbits of information and have started running away with them.

It’s all merely speculation for now, but as mentioned above, fans have latched onto Verica’s Instagram post, sharing their own ideas behind its meaning. With one writing, “THIS IS LITERALLY A CONFIRMATION HELLO?!!!?” in reference to Jenkins-Greig’s comment. Of course, it isn’t confirmation of anything, unless Netflix or Shondaland make an announcement. However, the streamer’s big Tudum presentation is slated for May 31, making way for a prime opportunity to drop some exciting news.

Only time will tell for certain. For now, we’ll continue to spiral alongside the fans until new updates on Bridgerton Season 4 or any potential spinoffs are unveiled.

For now, what we do know is that Bridgerton‘s fourth season will chronicle the love story between Bridgerton brother Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

Let us know your theories about Verica’s social media post, and stay tuned for any news on the Bridgerton universe as we await our latest return to the Ton.
