Does Miranda Lambert Have Kids? Her Marriage & Family With Husband Brendan McLoughlin
Miranda Lambert married Brendan McLoughlin, a New York City police officer, in January 2019 and shocked fans when she shared the news the following month. The pair met just over two months before tying the knot and had not gone public with their relationship before the country singer announced that she’d had a secret wedding.
Since then, they haven’t been shy about showing off their romance. McLoughlin often accompanies his wife to red carpet events, and they post tributes to one another on social media for special occasions.

Does Miranda Lambert have kids?
No, Lambert does not have any biological children of her own. However, she is a stepmom to McLoughlin’s son, Landon, whom he welcomed with ex Kaihla Rettinger in November 2018 — just three days after he met the “Kerosene” singer for the first time while she was performing at Good Morning America in New York City (McLoughlin and Rettinger have not clarified when they split.)
“My stepson is amazing,” Lambert told Extra in June 2019. “I’m loving that whole phase, and I’ve raised a million dogs, so I feel like I’ve got that part of my womanly/motherly thing is full, so this is a whole new journey. It’s great.”
Landon lives with his mom in New York, but Lambert and McLoughlin get to the city when they can. “We have the best of both worlds,” Lambert explained. We spend time in New York, we get to see our adorable nugget, then we come back to the farm and have the quiet life. I’m enjoying the balance.”
Lambert doesn’t publicly talk about her stepson much, but she did mention him while promoting her cookbook on CBS This Morning in 2023. “My stepson’s four-and-a-half, and I make the bunny cake with him now,” she said, referring to one of her recipes. “So it’s really, it’s our tradition. This whole book is about carrying on traditions and making memories.”
Does Miranda Lambert want kids?
Lambert was previously married to Blake Shelton for four years before their 2015 split, but they did not have children together either. She doesn’t often talk about whether she wants kids.
However, in 2024, she opened up about how she still feels fulfilled in that part of her life. She said she enjoys mentoring younger artists because she doesn’t have her own kids. “I want to use that part of what I’ve learned for younger generations,” she shared on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast.

Plus, she has plenty of animals to keep her busy. In addition to having her own dogs, cats, and horses, Lambert also founded MuttNation, a “nonprofit organization with a mission to support the adoption of shelter pets, advance spay and neuter, educate the public about the benefits of these actions, and provide assistance to shelters during times of natural disaster.”
What does Brendan McLoughlin do now?
After marrying Lambert, McLoughlin took a leave of absence from his job in the NYPD. He officially retired in early 2020 and then started working as security for the singer. He’s now her No. 1 supporter and was even a cowriter on her 2024 song “Dammit Randy.”
Lambert previously praised her hubby for being a “champ” after he was thrust into the limelight when they went public with their romance. In addition to news about his child being publicized, it was also revealed that McLoughlin was previously engaged to another woman.
