It’s been 10 years since Chris Soules‘ season of The Bachelor aired, which culminated in his engagement to Whitney Bischoff. Immediately following the March 2015 finale, the couple was thrust into the spotlight amid Soules’ run on Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars.

Bischoff was often in the audience cheering on her fiancé, but were the two able to make their relationship last after everything died down? Scroll down for a refresher on what happened between them!

What happened to Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff?

The love did not last between Soules and Bischoff. Less than two weeks after the Dancing With the Stars finale, the former couple announced their split on May 28, 2015. The breakup came just six months after Soules popped the question, and only two months after they went public when The Bachelor finale aired.

In a joint statement, the pair said they “mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement. They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey.”

On the show, Bischoff had expressed interest in moving to Iowa to be with Soules, but after the finale, there seemed to be more reluctance. “We haven’t really gotten there yet,” she told People. “I think we’re just taking it step by step. I don’t think you can put a time limit on something like that. I don’t think it can be forced. There can’t be any pressure with it. When we feel it, it will happen.”

When Soules was arrested for fleeing the scene of a fatal car accident in 2017, Bischoff reacted to the news. “This is a very sad situation,” she said. “I’m keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers, especially the victim and his family.”

The former reality star wound up pleading guilty and was sentenced to two years probation. He also made a $2.5 million settlement deal with the 66-year-old’s family.

Bischoff later opened up about how she struggled after the show, telling Pregnantish, “Coming off the show was very difficult. Nothing can prepare you for instant, overnight fame. I was very uncomfortable being in the public eye, and I really wanted – more than anything – to get back to work.”

Is Chris Soules in a relationship now?

In early 2025, Soules confirmed on the Almost Famous podcast that he was single. “I’m kind of in that season of my life where I’ve been through a lot of stuff, you know, so just trying to get myself in a good position to still find somebody,” he shared.

He briefly dated Bachelor Nation’s Victoria Fuller in 2020, but they split after just a few months. “I am just living my best life,” she said at the time. “We went a separate direction, but I, like, respect him so much and I think he’s an amazing man. I just think that, right now, I’m in a different place than he is. I’m not moving to Iowa anytime soon, so I just want to focus on me.”

The two reunited at Nick Viall‘s wedding in 2024, and it was amicable. “She’s a great person and I’m happy for what she’s doing,” Soules said. “And so, yes, [I] still care a ton about her.”

Bischoff and Angel welcomed a son, Hayes, in May 2019. Before conceiving baby No. 2, Bischoff dealt with some health issues, then suffered two miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy. Although she had frozen eggs from when she was 27 and made embryos with her husband, she struggled to get pregnant and was considering surrogacy and another embryo transfer.

In the end, Bischoff ended up conceiving a second child naturally and gave birth to a baby girl in August 2023.

Following her time on the show, Bischoff continued her work as a fertility nurse and ended up creating Lily Concierge Consulting. “In a healthcare system that often feels increasingly mechanized, many individuals feel lost and overwhelmed, unsure of where to begin, how to advocate for themselves, or even what questions to ask,” the company’s website says. “Thats why we are here- to keep you informed, empowered, and supported throughout your journey, ensuring you never feel like just a number, but a valued member of our Lily family.”
