Who Is ‘American Idol’ Star Breanna Nix’s Husband? All About Her Marriage to Austin
Breanna Nix is one of the Top 3 artists on Season 23 of American Idol. On Sunday, May 18, she’ll perform for America’s votes one last time in hopes of being named the winner of the season against John Foster and Jamal Roberts.
Throughout her entire run on the show, Breanna has had the support of her doting husband, Austin Nix. He was there for her audition, through the pre-taped rounds, and at every live show. He’s even dedicated his social media to supporting his wife.

How long have Breanna Nix and her husband been together?
Breanna and Austin started dating in August 2018. On the one-year anniversary of when they met, he revealed in an Instagram post, “The second day we talked I told her I was gonna Marry her.”
He added, “I couldn’t have asked for a better woman to spend the rest of my life with! Oh yeah.. about that… We are Engaged! (if you didn’t already know!) We get married in a Couple of months! I seriously am so happy that I get to annoy you for the rest of our lives.”

The couple got engaged in June 2019 (although Austin previously gave Breanna a promise ring six months earlier.) “I always have dreamed of this day. Today I asked my Bestfriend to Marry Me,” Austin wrote on Instagram after the proposal. “I want to Forever push our relationship closer to God, But most of all I want to spend Forever & Always with YOU💕💍 Thank You for choosing me to spend your life with..”
They wasted no time walking down the aisle and tied the knot in October 2019.
How did Breanna Nix meet her husband?
The two met “in a McAlister‘s parking lot,” according to Austin’s August 2019 Instagram post for their one-year anniversary. McAlister’s is a chain deli with locations across the country, but they met at one in Texas.
Do Breanna and Austin Nix have kids?
Yes, they are parents to a son named Emerson. Emerson has joined Austin in supporting Breanna throughout her Idol journey, even if he’s fallen asleep during a few of her performances!
Austin announced Breanna’s pregnancy on Instagram in June 2020, writing, “We have been keeping a secret! Don’t know what to expect, but we’re expecting!!! I’m so excited to be a dad! What do you guys think it will be? I’m team boy!”

Where do Breanna Nix and her husband live?
Breanna, Austin, and Emerson live in Denton, Texas. She was celebrated with a hometown parade after making the Top 3 on Idol.
Austin is from Jennings, Oklahoma, and his parents have a church nearby in Oilton, according to a Facebook group.
What does Breanna Nix’s husband do for a living?
While Austin’s job has not been confirmed, she revealed in an interview with Parade that he’s able to “work remotely,” which is why he’s been able to be in Los Angeles throughout the Idol live shows.
Like his wife, Austin is also musical and plays piano.
