‘General Hospital’s Eden McCoy Makes Rare Comments About Romance With Boyfriend Jonathan Heit

General Hospital star Eden McCoy sat down for a revealing and candid conversation with costar Maurice Benard on the latest edition of his State of Mind podcast. She opened up about her career, losing her mother, and her romance with boyfriend Jonathan Heit.
The couple went public with their romance in June 2024 when Heit shared a sweet post in honor of McCoy’s birthday. Since then, they’ve shared snapshots of their relationship. During the interview, Benard brought up that McCoy had “found a guy,” and she quickly elaborated about her romance.
“I think the most beautiful thing when you’re in the right relationship and a relationship that works for both parties is it’s so voluntary, like constantly,” McCoy said in the interview. “Nothing feels like a have-to or like a chore or just routine. My relationship is so organically… We’re just so in love and it’s so supportive, and everything feels on purpose and thought out. Even though we have a home together and have built a life together and things are routine and that’s my person, that’s my home, it still feels like a crush, like in every sense of the word.”

The Daytime Emmy winner, who has played Josslyn Jacks on GH since 2015, gushed that she’s in the “most committed relationship of my life.” She added, “But there was no sacrifice. There was no giving up anything about me aside of that person to be with this person. I feel like if I was single or in a relationship, there’s no difference in my day to day.”
She told Benard that she has the “space” she needs to “do everything for me first, and then there’s this wonderful person that I share everything with and vice versa.”
McCoy continued, “We’re very together but very much on our own in all of the ways you have to be as a person in their 20s. We’re very young. You have to give each other that room.”
Heit started out as a child actor, best known for his role in Bedtime Stories, before retiring from acting in 2016 to become a gallerist.
The actress also discussed her mother’s death from cancer in 2023. McCoy opened up about her grief and how she’s learned to accept support from her loved ones. “To learn to lean on people was really amazing. It taught me so much,” she said.
