Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge‘s relationship has been complicated from the get-go. They met while filming Ex on the Beach in 2017, but after returning home from filming, he learned that he was the father of his The Challenge costar Cheyenne Floyd‘s daughter, Ryder, who was born less than a year earlier.
Needless to say, this took a toll on Wharton and Selfridge’s relationship, but by 2019, they officially decided to be together and commit to each other. Since then, they’ve built their own family and maintained a healthy coparenting relationship with Floyd and her now-husband, Zach Davis.

On May 27, 2025, The U.S. Sun reported that Wharton and Selfridge had broken up. The outlet’s confirmation came after fans began speculating that there was trouble in paradise because the couple appeared to unfollow each other on Instagram amid Wharton’s trip to Bali with longtime pal Nelson Thomas.
Wharton also shared cryptic now-deleted posts on X that said, “I got time today so if ya really want to know what’s going stay locked in and if you want to see me fail f**kkkkk ya,” and, “It’s easy to comment on somebody’s issues when yall need to look in the mirror.”
Before the rumored split, Selfridge had been open about wanting Wharton to propose. “The clock is ticking,” she told In Touch Weekly in 2024. “He’s only got so much time.”
Did Cory Wharton cheat on Taylor Selfridge?
Per The U.S. Sun, Wharton also said in another since-deleted tweet that he “didn’t cheat,” adding, “We were going through s**t WAY before this trip idiots.”
However, he has admitted to being unfaithful in the past. He and Selfridge appeared on Teen Mom: Family Reunion in 2024, and Wharton said that there’s a lack of trust in their relationship because he cheated on her five years prior.
“Cory just wants me to get over it because it happened so long ago,” Selfridge explained. “Yes, it happened five years ago, but I’m not over it yet, and I feel like it’s something we haven’t worked through yet. I’m definitely still holding a grudge about it. I don’t forget. That’s the problem.”
Do Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge have kids?
Yes, they have two children together, and also coparent Ryder. Selfridge gave birth to her and Wharton’s daughter, Mila, in April 2020, followed by another daughter, Maya, in June 2022. Maya had two open heart surgeries after being born with a congenital heart condition.

“Watching your kid sit there in a hospital bed was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” Wharton said in 2024, the same year he celebrated the one-year anniversary of her surgery. “I learned so much throughout that process,” he shared on Instagram. “One of the biggest things is health is wealth, I don’t care how much money you have. It all means NOTHING if you’re not healthy.”
