Bobby Flay Reveals New Details About Romance With ‘BBQ Brawl’ Costar Brooke Williamson
Bobby Flay is finally giving us some morsels about his relationship with fellow Food Network star and Top Chef Season 14 winner, Brooke Williamson.
The couple appears on the new season of BBQ Brawl, which premiered June 1, but the news broke that they were dating in March. Before things turned romantic, Flay and his new girlfriend were longtime friends and colleagues, also teaming up for Bobby’s Triple Threat. She’s even competed against her beau on Beat Bobby Flay.
“I’ve been friends with Brooke forever,” Flay told People. But will we see their romantic relationship on the show? Flay says that won’t be the case because they actually shot the show before they started dating.
“She’s been on the show basically since the inception,” he added. “So it’s always been fun to kind of have her around because we’ve been friends, but now going forward, it’s a little bit different. So we’ll see what that brings.”
Flay also dished about what it’s been like to date someone who’s also in the restaurant business. “We have tons to talk about in terms of the things that we love to do besides just go and have dinner every once in a while,” he said, adding that she’s great to bounce ideas off of. “It’s really nice to have kind of a best friend that you’re dating that can also be helpful answering the questions that you have,” he said.
Work isn’t the only thing the culinary power couple have in common. Flay also mentioned that he and Williamson have bonded over both being parents. The former shares a daughter, Sofie, with ex-wife Kate Connelly, who Flay divorced in 1998. Williamson has a son, Hudson, with ex Nick Roberts. They finalized their divorce in early 2024.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see the pair’s romance on TV at some point in the near future since it seems like the pair won’t stop working together any time soon. “I love working with Brooke,” Flay said. “We’re very lucky.”
