Are ‘Love Island USA’s Bergie & Taylor Still Together? Their Relationship Today
Carsten “Bergie” Bergersen and Taylor Smith found love in the most hopeless (or hopeful, depending on who you ask) of places: The Love Island USA villa. The reality stars were contestants on Season 5 of the show in 2023. They finished in third place and left as a couple.
But now that it’s been two years since their time on the dating show. As a new season begins, we’re looking back at where they stand today. Scroll down for an update on Bergie and Taylor’s romance!
Are Bergie and Taylor still together?
Yes, they’ve continued to make their relationship work. Both Bergie and Taylor often post on social media together, continuously giving fans proof that they’re going strong. Most recently, they posted together on May 8.
Bergie and Taylor also both paid tribute to one another in honor of their one-year anniversary in August 2024. They each posted a lengthy caption to express their love for each other.
“Babe thank you for making me a better man this past year, thank you for caring for me like no other person, thank you for being my words of wisdom when I have needed guidance!” Bergie gushed. “I Love you @taylor98smith! Here’s to many more years to come!”

Meanwhile, Taylor wrote, “This past year has been the craziest most fantastic year I could have ever imagined. If you were to ask me before going on love island ‘Do you think you’re actually going to find love on the show.’ I probably would’ve said the odds are very slim. But Boy Was I wrong! I came out with the greatest gift god could’ve given me and that was you….My Big Bad Bergie.”
Do Bergie and Taylor live together?
No, they appear to still be in a long-distance relationship. On the show, the fact that he lived in South Dakota and she lived in Texas caused some hesitation, but they ultimately decided to give it a go.
In his anniversary post to Taylor, Bergie referenced the long-distance situation, writing, “I have developed a relationship with airports, where I’m either really excited to go or never want to leave! We have had so many FaceTime calls this past year that have gone on for endless hours but still never feel long enough! Heck, we fall asleep while FaceTime’ing more than we hang up, including last night!”
Taylor also acknowledged the distance. “As we continue our everyday facetime calls, monthly visits, Amazing date nights and the commitment of this long distance relationship we have is stronger than anyone could ever imagine,” she shared.
In addition to visiting each other, Bergie and Taylor have taken a lot of trips to spend time together.
Are Bergie and Taylor getting married?
They’re not engaged yet, but Bergie hinted that it could be coming in a May TikTok video. He played a game on the app that determined how long he had to get married, and it suggested seven years.
“No way,” Bergie said. “That’s way too long.” Looks like he has something in mind!
