Fate has a way of bringing two people together who are meant to be. From the moment they met in the Love Is Blind Season 8 pods, Taylor Hastings (née Haag) and Daniel Hastings’ worlds locked into place. They became the only couple of the season to get married, and they’re still going strong more than a year later.

The couple recently had a vow renewal ceremony with hundreds of guests, and Daniel fulfilled his promise of getting a lip tattoo just like his wife. (He got “Skol” in honor of his love for the Minnesota Vikings, while Taylor previously had “Taco Bell” tattooed on her lips.) For the Season 8 pair, their life together is just getting started. In honor of the debut of Swooon’s Summer Catch-Up series, we had to get an update from our favorite Christmas-loving pod couple.

Daniel and Taylor revealed they have a “busy summer” ahead, with traveling and moving into their new house. “Before the show came out, we decided to start the process, and we toured it,” Taylor revealed about buying a house. “And we thought, wow, this is awesome, but it’s the first place we’ve looked. We went, we toured another place, and it didn’t even compare.”

The Hastings made sure their new home would have more than enough space to accommodate their Christmas decorations later this year. “There’s perfect spots on both sides of a fireplace in our new house for two trees. I think it’s just going to be a little winter wonderland in there come Christmas time,” she gushed. Daniel added that festive and creative Christmas cards are going to become a “tradition” for them moving forward.

As for the rest of 2025, Taylor and Daniel will continue to prioritize their house and relationship. They’re embracing the opportunities that come their way in a post-Love Is Blind world, but Daniel stressed they’re keeping “our marriage at the center of the focus of what we’re doing, so if that means turning certain things down because it just would take away from maybe the focus of what our marriage is, then so be it. I think we’ve done a pretty good job of that, but that’s a big goal is just to continue to try and do that.”

And don’t expect a Hastings kid just yet. The couple celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in March 2024, and Taylor revealed that kids are “definitely on the back burner” at the moment. “I would say probably another year or two before kids come into the picture,” she said.

Daniel added,  “We’ve definitely talked about it, and it is something that we’re aligned on, but I think next year we’ll talk about it more.”

Since the Season 8 reunion, which aired in March, there have been a number of notable relationship developments. Mason Horacek and Meg Fink have gotten back together, while Sara Carton and Joey Leveille started casually dating. The sole couple of Season 8 to say “I do” weighed in on the Love Is Blind romances.

“I feel like everyone that signed up for Love Is Blind was hopeful to find someone that they had a genuine connection with, and regardless of maybe what was seen on the show and what wasn’t seen on the show, at the end of the day, people are making these connections because of this very unique shared life experience that we all had together,” Taylor told Swooon. “Obviously, I live in a world where I just want everyone to be happy, and I’ve gotten to know and respect everyone from the cast, so to see them finding happiness, I think it’s great, honestly.”

Daniel added, “We were the only married couple from our season, and we’ve talked multiple times about how we wish we would have had another couple to also navigate marriage life and the world that we live in now. For a while, we also were the only couple period, so it’s amazing to have other people who get it and that we can do double dates or talk about things with.”
