He told People, “It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy.” After meeting on the set of the 2022 holiday film, Christmas in Paradise, and reconnecting during a harsh time in Cyrus’ life, the two publicly announced their relationship over Easter weekend. Debuting just a few months after Cyrus’ divorce from his second wife, Firerose, the announcement naturally sent the Internet into a tizzy. While Cyrus claims he’s never been happier, and Hurley reassures that they’re very compatible, fans are still finding the relationship hard to grasp.
In both of Hurley’s most recent Instagram updates (one with the caption, “Tennessee weekend”, and the other dressed to the nines for the opening of a Valentino gallery), fan comments were a mixed bag of “so happy for you” and “what is happening?” Others simply share comments of their disapproval, such as: “What the heck is she thinking?” or “Run for the hills Liz.”
