‘Ginny & Georgia’: Felix Mallard Addresses Marcus & Ginny’s Relationship Status After Season 3 (VIDEO)

For the longtime shippers of Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Marcus (Felix Mallard), the third season of Ginny & Georgia tested our patience. The teen couple danced around this will-they-or-won’t-they get back together circle before settling on the “just friends” label, even though they were both very clearly still in love with each other.
The invisible string continued to tug between them, but Ginny and Marcus were in mostly separate orbits in Season 3. Ginny was dealing with Georgia’s (Brianne Howey) murder trial and later had an abortion after a party hookup with “Poetry Guy” Wolfe. When Ginny walked out of the procedure, who was there waiting for her? Marcus.
Throughout the third season, Marcus began to push everyone away as his depression worsened. He was suspended, his grades slipped drastically, and he developed an addiction to alcohol. The one bright spot in his life? Ginny. After fighting their feelings, Marcus and Ginny shared a kiss that seemed to hint at reconciliation. However, Marcus was later taken to rehab by his mother after a family intervention. As he sat in the car, he read Ginny’s love poem for him.

So, are Ginny and Marcus back together? Felix Mallard revealed where this fan-favorite couple stands heading into Season 4. “It’s pretty battered,” Mallard said about Ginny and Marcus’ relationship.
He noted that Marcus has “tried to burn every bridge he has around him because I don’t know if he thinks he deserves it. Optimistically, I think they’re in a place where they both understand that there’s this love for each other, but I think he might have to do a bit of work to earn the trust back.”
Mallard added, “I think he’s kind of burnt Ginny five too many times, and if they’re going to come back to each other, then he’s going to have to really show up in a meaningful way. Otherwise, she won’t trust him. Like, why would you?”
Out of the many people in Ginny’s life, Marcus is one of the ones she probably trusts the most. He’s her sunshine—if you know, you know.
