‘Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple Give Update Amid Fan Concerns About Time Apart

Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple recently reunited in New York City and filmed a video update for fans while hanging out in Bryant Park. They were in town to take Vassos’ 93-year-old mother and 83-year-old aunt to some Broadway shows.
However, one comment Vassos made in her video had fans a bit concerned that the engaged couple hasn’t been spending enough time together.
“We hadn’t seen each other in almost three weeks, so he came in to meet me and now he’s going to go to North Carolina and see his kids for Father’s Day,” Vassos said in the June 15 video.
This prompted fans to pop into the comments section with messages like, “Pls see each other more often. That’s not enough to hold together a relationship,” and, “Why isn’t Joan going to North Carolina to be with Chock on Father’s Day? 3 weeks in between visits? Hmmmm,” and, “How do you not see each other for 3 weeks?”

But The Golden Bachelorette couple made it crystal clear that their relationship is doing just fine, despite the distance. “We’re just having a great time, and we love being together,” Vassos continued. “We left my mom and aunt at the hotel so we could spend a little time here.”
She also concluded the video by adding, “It’s summertime and we’re still together and better than ever.”
Even before Vassos became the lead on The Golden Bachelorette, she was adamant that she wouldn’t be willing to leave her kids, grandkids, and mother, who all live in Maryland. She and Chapple have been dedicated to making a long-distance romance work while she was on the East Coast and he’s in Kansas, where he runs his insurance business.
However, they recently admitted that they plan on moving in together before tying the knot. “We still have a little bit of time where we need to be apart. Chock still has a business,” Vassos explained on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “We’re both really still kind of busy, and we’re having fun meeting [every two weeks].”
She added that they’re still “not rushing” these next steps, but said that “in the next 18 months” she thinks they’ll be in the right place. “We want to make sure we do it right,” Vassos added.
