‘American Idol’s Gabby Barrett Gives Rare Glimpse at Family Life With Cade Foehner & 3 Kids

In honor of Father’s Day, Gabby Barrett gave fans a rare look inside her life with husband Cade Foehner and their three young children. The American Idol alum posted a tribute to Foehner, whom she met while they were both contestants on Season 16 of the singing competition in 2018.
“Not all heroes wear capes – some wear patience, carry burdens quietly, and love without limit,” Barrett captioned her post. “Grateful for you today my dear, Happy Fathers Day!”
The first shot showed Foehner getting down and dirty with two of the couple’s three children outside. Subsequent photos showed him in his role as a father, taking on tasks including snuggling, reading, and more.

Barrett and Foehner got engaged in March 2019, just about a year after their romance on American Idol went public. They tied the knot that October and welcomed their first daughter, Baylah, in January 2021. Son Augustine followed in October 2022, and then came daughter Ivy in February 2024.
Since becoming parents, Barrett and Foehner have kept a busy schedule. She’s continued to pursue her music career, releasing her debut album in June 2020 while pregnant with Baylah. A second album followed in February 2024, along with a Christmas album later that year.
While full-on touring has had to take a bit of a backseat in recent years, Barrett has continued to play shows with Foehner serving as her guitarist. This summer, she’ll be playing a bunch of shows across the United States and has promised fans that new music is coming.
Meanwhile, Foehner received his bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies in May. “After several years of study, I can say without exaggeration: this journey has deeply shaped who I am,” he wrote on Instagram. “This hasn’t been just about education—it’s been about formation. At The Master’s University, every subject is studied with Scripture at the center and Christ above all. I wholeheartedly recommend TMU’s Biblical Studies program, and even more so, the institution itself—for its rigor, its clarity, and its commitment to the truth.”
