10 Free Romance Books We’re Grabbing on Stuff Your Kindle Day

Amazon

When we first caught wind of Stuff Your Kindle Day, we were sure that there had to be a catch. Hundreds (if not thousands) of romance e-books, all priced at zero dollars? It sounds too good to be true — but after participating in the event a few times over the years, we can confirm that it really is as great as it sounds. And lucky for us, it’s going on right now!

Today, you can stock up on any kind of romance book your heart desires, whether it’s a small-town enemies-to-lovers or a high-stakes romantasy. You can browse the entire list on Romance Book Lovers, which puts on the Romance Book Blast during the first month of every quarter. (Technically, it’s not associated with Stuff Your Kindle, but it’s the same premise.) To make your experience little bit smoother, we’ve pulled 10 books that are going straight into our TBR pile. Keep scrolling to see which ones made the cut.

(Oh, and don’t forget to grab your books in your browser. It won’t work in the Amazon app!)

The Duke Who Knew Too Much by Grace Callaway

If you’re missing Bridgerton as much as we are, there are plenty of free Regency romances on the table. This one features an enemies-to-lovers dynamic. He’s the “Devil Duke,” and she’s an independent country girl. She accuses him of a crime he didn’t commit, but an undeniable attraction forms between them, all while their true enemy is after them. What’s more, it has over 1,500 perfect ratings on Goodreads!

The Work of Art by Mimi Matthews

Can you tell we’re on a historical romance kick? This book caught our attention first because the Virginia Romance Writers gave it an award, and hundred of reviewers love it, too. Its description has us wanting to read it ASAP —  a grumpy, protective war veteran comes to the rescue of the protagonist, who’s being pursued by an evil duke. It’s a clean romance, if you want a sweeter, less steamy story. Don’t underestimate the tension, though!

A Guide to Fake Dating Your Enemy by Nikki Bright

If contemporary romance is more your speed, then you should check out the first book in The Warners series. The title is enough to entice us, since we love the fake dating and enemies-to-lovers tropes as much as the next person. It’s a short and cute rom-com, according to reviewers. Nearly 100 of them have given it five stars on Goodreads.

Enemies With Benefits by Roxie Noir

If you can’t tell, we’ll never say no to an enemies-to-lovers story, and this option has hundreds of five-star reviews on Amazon. The main duo has known each other since kindergarten, and they’ve never managed to get along. Eli reenters Violet’s life years after they graduate from high school, with him taking a job at the wedding venue where Violet works. They slip back into their old dynamic as they compete with each other for a bonus, but this time, they have an enemies with benefits arrangement on the side.

The Other Side of the Mirror by Dana Evyn

You know we had to include at least one Fae romance. The protagonist is abducted to the the faerie realm, only to be saved by the dashing MMC. He reveals that in order to stop a world-ending curse, she has to find her faerie soulmate. “The plot picked up relatively quickly from the beginning and hooked me right away,” a reader said. “I loved the tension, I loved the plot twists, and all of the side characters were enjoyable too! The books ends with a heckin’ cliffhanger, so I’m so anxious to move on to book 2!”

Brutal Rival by Ember Holt

We knew we had to include Brutal Rival when we found out it has Victorian vibes, demons, and a princess-turned-criminal. The heroine’s love interest is a ruthless gang leader, who has a “touch her and die” mentality. “The dialogue was witty and hilarious at times. The world building was simple to grasp. The story was fast paced. I loved the rivals to lovers and the revenge tropes, as well as the dark magic,” says one review.

The Watchmaker’s Daughter by C.J. Archer

A historical fiction with a dash of romance, The Watchmaker’s Daughter is the first in a series, and it boasts over 11,000 perfect ratings on Goodreads. That alone was enough to convince us that it’s worth checking out, but the blurb sounds extremely interesting, too. With her watchmaker father dead and fiancé having stolen her money, India is desperate to find another watchmaking job in London, but no one will accept her. A mysterious American man, who owns a watch that rejuvenates him when he’s ill, offers her a lifeline.

The Highland Crush by Amy McGavin

A second chance love story set in the Scottish Highlands? Don’t mind if we do. Lewis destroyed what he had with Iona six years ago, but now that she’s returned to their small town, he’ll do anything to win her back. The book has 4.4 stars on Goodreads, and it’s one book in a series of interconnected standalones.

Forever Fake by Cassia Quinn

We couldn’t not include at least one mafia romance. A dark billionaire needs a fake wife, so he blackmails the sunshiny mafia princess who tried to steal from him. There’s plenty of angst, but don’t worry: A happy ending is guaranteed.

Snow So White by C. Gockel

Like you might’ve guessed, this one is a Snow White retelling, but it puts an urban fantasy spin on it. It also flips it so the FMC is the rescuer of her love interest. “I was hooked from the first page, reading late into the night past normal sleepiness,” a reviewer said. “The character development is compelling, and well organized into a storyline that draws the reader in gradually.”
