10 Free Romance Books We’re Grabbing on Stuff Your Kindle Day

When we first caught wind of Stuff Your Kindle Day, we were sure that there had to be a catch. Hundreds (if not thousands) of romance e-books, all priced at zero dollars? It sounds too good to be true — but after participating in the event a few times over the years, we can confirm that it really is as great as it sounds. And lucky for us, it’s going on right now!

Today, you can stock up on any kind of romance book your heart desires, whether it’s a small-town enemies-to-lovers or a high-stakes romantasy. You can browse the entire list on Romance Bookworms, but to make your Stuff Your Kindle Day go a little bit smoother, we’ve pulled 10 that are going straight into our TBR pile. Keep scrolling to see which books made the cut.

Court of Shadows by C.N. Crawford

We can vouch for this one. We downloaded it last year during another Stuff Your Kindle event and ate it up! It’s a BookTok favorite, taking place at a fae academy where the FMC is training to be an assassin. She’s taken there by a shadowy, supernatural gladiator. It’s a quick, fun read, and the first in a 10-book series.

Sinfully Wed by Kathleen Ayers

If you’re missing Bridgerton as much as we are, there are plenty of free Regency romances on the table. This one also features an enemies-to-lovers dynamic, since the main characters are forced to enter a courtship neither of them wants — Jordan’s an earl on the verge of destitution, so his motivations are financial. Odessa couldn’t be less interested in marrying someone with a title. Still, there’s an undeniable attraction between them. Sign us up!

Ride: A Cowboy Romance by Roxie Noir

This option is a little more grounded, if that’s what you like in your romance books. It’s also a standalone, second chance love story. The FMC is charged with photographing the World Rodeo Championships, and she’s determined to make the most of her shot. But it also forces her back into the orbit of two-time champion Jackson Cody, the guy she had a brief encounter with years ago. “It’s giving The Longest Ride but spicy as hell,” said a Goodreads reviewer. That’s enough to entice us!

Enemies With Benefits by Roxie Noir

If you can’t tell, we love an enemies-to-lovers situation, and this option has hundreds of five-star reviews on Amazon. The main duo has known each other since kindergarten, and they’ve never managed to get along. Eli reenters Violet’s life years after they graduate from high school, with him taking a job at the wedding venue where Violet works. They slip back into their old dynamic as they compete with each other for a bonus — but this time, they have an enemies with benefits arrangement on the side.

Wicked Tides by Courtney Leigh

You won’t find any insta-love in this story. The main characters truly hate each other: One is a pirate siren hunter, and the other is a pirate-killing siren. They murdered each other’s families and have been waiting to get their revenge for years — until they’re forced into a reluctant partnership. This one’s a darker romance, so be sure to check the warnings on the author’s website.

Cross-Checked by Julia Connors

We’re in our hockey romance era. With over 2,000 five-star ratings on Goodreads, Cross-Checked seems like a great way to get our fix. It follows AJ, the league’s first female general manager, and her team’s captain, Ronan. She’s a no-nonsense boss, and he’s a newly single dad. They have an unethical enemies-with-benefits relationship, but their dislike of each other starts to change when they’re forced into close proximity.

Broken Beginnings by Clio Evans

This one’s for all the small town romance lovers. The stakes, however, are anything but low. After watching her neighbor get murdered, Haley returns to her southern hometown. There, she crosses paths with her high school bully, Cameron, who’s determined to make things right. With the killer on her trail, Haley ends up finding refuge in Cameron. Still, it’s not all doom and gloom. “It’s like a cute Hallmark movie directed by Tubi,” one reviewer describes the book.

The Watchmaker’s Daughter by C.J. Archer

A historical fiction with a dash of romance, The Watchmaker’s Daughter is the first in a series, and it boasts over 11,000 perfect ratings on Goodreads. That alone was enough to convince us that it’s worth checking out, but the blurb sounds extremely interesting, too. With her watchmaker father dead and fiancé having stolen her money, India is desperate to find another watchmaking job in London, but no one will accept her. A mysterious American man, who owns a watch that rejuvenates him when he’s ill, offers her a lifeline.

Married to the Alien Cowboy by Ursa Dax

Hear us out on this one! This book was recommended by Reddit users, and with how many positive reviews it has on Amazon, we’re betting it’s an Ice Planet Barbarians sort of situation. The FMC is on the run from a crime lord, so she leaves her own planet for another. She gets an all-expenses-paid trip to a ranching outpost, where — you guessed it — she has to marry an alien cowboy.

One Rake to Ruin by Cara Maxwell

Another Regency romance we’re eager to read is One Rake to Ruin. The Earl of Fordham is hinging on his prized racehorse to save from from financial ruin. Daniela becomes the Earl’s exercise rider, hiding her true identity from him. While their attraction grows, nefarious forces are trying to keep their horse from winning. We love a romance with headstrong, rebellious FMC with a straight-laced love interest!
