‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Anna Camp Defends Age-Gap Relationship with Girlfriend Jade Whipkey
Anna Camp recently made her red carpet debut with girlfriend Jade Whipkey — and social media users have a lot to say about the couple.
The You actress, 42, attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie, Bride Hard, on Wednesday, June 18. In a short clip posted by PinkNews, Camp was all smiles as she posed with Whipkey, 24.

Beneath the Instagram post, people were quick to voice their opinions about the pair’s 18-year age gap. While some came to the Pitch Perfect star’s defense, others had less positive things to say. Oppenheimer actor Nick Dumont was among the commenters.
“I don’t know these two but I think too often we overlook age gaps in queer relationship,” they said. “I even think 30 and 22 is a poor match. The brain is very very different in your early 20s and late 20s. The brain isn’t even developed fully until 25/26. Obviously hope they are the exception!”
Camp, who came out in May, has since clapped back at the critics. “I’ve dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,” she wrote in the comments on Friday, June 20. Camp was previously married to her Pitch Perfect costar Skylar Astin and Ozark actor Michael Mosley.
“We have more in common than anyone else I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything,” Camp continued.
The actress revealed that she was dating a woman during an informal man-on-the-street interview after she shared a photo of her stylist girlfriend for the first time back in March. While promoting Bride Hard with fellow Pitch Perfect alum Rebel Wilson, Camp addressed her sexuality.
“Surprise, all the Bellas are gay now!” Wilson joked in an interview. Wilson came out in June 2022 by posting a photo with her then-girlfriend Ramona Agruma, whom she married a little over two years later. Camp laughed along, adding, “Now we’re all gay.”
