Are ‘We Were Liars’ Star Emily Alyn Lind & ‘The Bachelor’s Kelsey Anderson Related?
This Bachelor Nation and We Were Liars connection has us thinking that Hollywood is a much smaller town than we once believed.
On June 20, We Were Liars breakout star Emily Alyn Lind went on the Zach Sang Show podcast to break down her new hit show and what it was like growing up in the spotlight. During the interview, Emily revealed a personal connection to The Bachelor that shocked many fans of both the book-to-screen adaptation and reality TV.
As the daughter of Barbara Alyn Woods, who played Deb Scott on One Tree Hill, and prolific assistant director John Lind, Emily has made it clear that she is not afraid to call herself a “nepo baby.” Instead, she expresses her gratitude and understanding of the support she received from both her parents, citing that she had access to and support “in a way that others wouldn’t to get into this industry.”
While many know that the We Were Liars star is related to teen drama royalty, a connection that many are just starting to make is that Emily’s mom connects her to The Bachelor franchise, specifically the beloved Bachelor Nation couple Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson.
As Emily put it on the Zach Sang Show, “My mom started dating this amazing man named Mark Anderson, and he happened to be a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette.” According to Emily, Bachelor Nation’s first nepo dad is “the most sweetest man.”
While Mark and Barbara’s late 2024 hard launch had many questioning how the One Tree Hill star met The Golden Bachelorette contestant, Emily explained, “She slid into his DMs.” She added that her mom saw Mark on TV and “was like, that’s mine.” Soon after, Emily, Kelsey, and Joey were featured in the blended family Christmas photos.

While these holiday pictures went viral at the time, confirming that The Golden Bachelorette and One Tree Hill stars were serious about their relationship, they have resurfaced with the launch of We Were Liars. “I already thought I had a big family,” Emily reflected. “But then, you know, all of Mark’s family came and we had a blended family Brady Bunch Christmas.”
It’s safe to say that many fans had not put two and two together until the interview, resulting in hilarious fan reactions like, “This is me finding out Emily Lind and Kelsey Anderson are practically step-siblings” and “Wait! Her mom is Deb?!” However, now that the connection has been brought to light, we’ll be the first to say that we need Kelsey and Joey to make an appearance on Beechwood in We Were Liars Season 2.
