What Is Hotel Amor? Why ‘Love Island USA’ Fans Think the Twist Is Coming

Olandria and Nic on 'Love Island USA' Season 7

We’ve seen so many fan theories since Love Island USA‘s last episode aired, but this one has to take the cake.

The dating reality show doesn’t often leave viewers with an open ending, but Season 7 has been full of surprises. After changing the Casa Amor rules, two Islanders were unexpectedly sent home: Nic and Olandria. They were seemingly set to leave for good, but as Nic was walking out of the villa, a happy-looking Olandria pulled up in a car to whisk him away.

What does it all mean? One viewer took to social media to share their prediction for what’s in store for the maybe-dumped contestants. TikTok user @caschiiii thinks that Love Island USA is going to introduce a twist from the Australian version of the show: Hotel Amor, which is Casa Amor’s even messier counterpart.

What is Hotel Amor?

Love Island Australia made history last season by conducting the first-ever Hotel Amor. Rather than sending the girls and boys to separate villas to interact with new singles aka Casa Amor — the show tested the Islanders’ loyalty to their partners in a different way. They were sent away to a private suite for the night with someone who wasn’t their partner. Even juicier, the fans decided who would be paired with who, creating six new couples.

Once they got to the hotel, the new couples indulged in spa treatments, drinks, and food. Of course, they were also put up in a luxurious room. When nighttime rolled around, however, the cameras were turned off.

“I think it’s even better than Casa Amor,” said host Sophie Monk.

Are Nic and Olandria Coming Back?

Many signs point toward Nic and Olandria’s return. That ambiguous final scene in Episode 20 aside, there’s also the fact that host Ariana Madix explained the Casa Amor twist in an interesting way. “Everyone will be returning this year,” she told the OG guys, emphasizing “everyone.” She added, “There will be some very big decisions to make for all of you.”

Nic and Olandria also didn’t get a text that outright said they’d been dumped from the villa. Instead, it said, “You have 30 minutes to pack your bags and say your goodbyes.”

Some have been speculating that the two were saved from complete elimination because many fans have been hoping for Nic and Olandria to couple up all season long. Eliminated Islander Charlie Georgiou said that he didn’t notice any underlying feelings between the two, but some shippers are holding out hope — especially now that it seems like their journey isn’t over. Producers could be sending Nic and Olandria to Hotel Amor to see if they can form a romantic connection.

“I think production has been seeing all of this Nic and Olandria crack ship online and wants to capitalize off it,” the user of the viral video said. “To get more viewership on this and say, ‘Hey, we’re listening to you. We know that you want these two people together.'”
