‘Mormon Wives’ Reunion: Taylor Frankie Paul Reveals Current Relationship Status With Dakota Mortensen

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Reunion Special didn’t hold back on the reality stars. Host Nick Viall got into the weeds of all the drama that went down in Season 2, most of it romance related.
A chunk of the reunion was dedicated to the complicated situationship between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen. The former couple, who share a son, had a dramatic breakup that unfolded throughout Season 2, with Dakota desperate to win Taylor back. However, Dakota’s lies caught up with him, and Taylor kept him at arm’s length, even if she still let him in her bed.
When Nick asked Taylor about her relationship status with Dakota, she said, “We are just individually needing to do so much self-work on ourselves and to be better parents for our son.” Taylor revealed that she’s continued to discover how Dakota hasn’t been completely honest with her. She found out after having their son that Dakota had lied about sleeping with other women during the talking stage of their relationship.
Dakota was brought out to share his side of everything, and he addressed why he’s been unable to be fully transparent with Taylor. “I mean, obviously, I freaking screwed up,” he explained. “I didn’t go about any of that the right way, but I can tell she was hurting, and in my eyes, I was kind of like, do I want to hurt her more now? I think I just justified it in my head.”
Taylor stressed that her relationship with Dakota mostly revolves around sex. “I’m getting nothing but sex,” she said. Taylor broke down in tears because she’s upset over how she “trusted Dakota” over herself. Dakota also teared up and said he was “just trying to navigate so many new things that I’ve never experienced.”
When asked about whether or not he could be an honest and faithful partner, Dakota answered, “Yes, 100 percent.” However, Taylor wasn’t so sure about that. “Maybe one day,” she said. “If I were to answer today, no.”
Nick brought up how cozy Taylor and Dakota were at Stagecoach recently and wanted them to acknowledge how their relationship looks to the outside world. “It’s hard because I never wanted this. But at the end of the day, I cannot sit in the same bed with him and have peace, so we will never be together now.” She added that it’s “hard” to just break things off completely with Dakota.
Taylor was previously married to Tate Paul, with whom she shares two children, Indy and Ocean. Her ex was the one involved in the soft swinging scandal with her.
In the Season 3 trailer, which aired at the end of the reunion, Taylor called out her own mother for defending Dakota. “Stop sticking up for him, please,” she begged.
