Kelly Ripa Has Shocking View on What Would Happen in Mark Consuelos Divorce
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos celebrated 29 years of marriage in May, but on the Wednesday, July 2, episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, they discussed the topic of splitting up.
The conversation stemmed from Ripa referencing an article about what women shouldn’t do if they want to attract a man, leading her to discuss how she’d act if she and Consuelos ever “broke up” at some point.
“I’m doing all of these things to be repellant to a man,” Ripa exclaimed. “Let’s just say you were to leave me. I can say with 100% certainty that dating is out of the question. I’ve had three kids. There’s too much to explain.”
The cohosts share sons Michael, 28, and Joaquin, 22, and daughter Lola, 24, and Ripa said she has no interest in getting intimate with someone new if her marriage fell apart.
“I’m not ever getting naked again,” she insisted. “And I resent having to get naked in front of you sometimes. I’m like, ‘No, no, no, light out, you can wait until dark. Also, turn off that light, and also turn off your cell phone light. I want it pitch-black in here. And no unexpected touching!'”
Divorce certainly doesn’t seem to be on the horizon for these lovebirds, though. They both honored each other with Instagram tributes for their 29th wedding anniversary in May, with Consuelos gushing, “Happy 29th anniversary sexy,” and Ripa writing, “Italian Renaissance. Amore eterno ❤️ 🇮🇹 Happy 29th Anniversary @instasuelos!”
The former All My Children costars started dating in 1995. Although they broke up the following year, they eventually reconciled after a forced reunion for a taping of Live With Regis and Kathie Lee.
“We had to be here. And we both tried to get out of it, but we both ended up being here on this stage,” Consuelos explained to People. “Obviously, seeing her, it was like, ‘This is the worst decision of my life. I have to be with her forever.’ And I asked her to marry me and we flew to Vegas the next day.”
