90 Day Fiancé alums Sarper and Shekinah Güven tied the knot on November 11, 2024, a year and a half after their 2023 debut in the beloved TLC franchise.

While the couple, who first appeared on Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, knew that their “Bedding” would be a first for the 90 Day franchise as their wedding occurred entirely in a hotel bed, they did not know that their wedding would mark another milestone for the franchise.

Sarper and Shekinah’s unconventional ceremony was 90 Day Fiancé‘s 90th wedding, equating to one wedding for each day of the K-1 Visa, the fiancé visa that serves as the namesake for the show.

In an interview with Swooon, the couple revealed that they were not aware that their wedding would go down in 90 Day history until after they were married. When asked if they knew their wedding would be the franchise’s 90th, Shekinah replied, “No, we had no idea. We found out right before it was announced publicly to the world.”

As the esthetician put it, “We were shocked, just along with everyone else.” She added, “We never really even thought, like, ‘I wonder which number wedding we are in the franchise?'”

While the couple’s three appearances in the franchise (90 Day Fiancé Season 11 and 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Seasons 5 and 6) made them ideal candidates to represent the franchise as a whole, Sarper revealed an unexpected reason why they were the perfect choice for the esteemed 90th spot: Shekinah is “obsessed with numbers.”

“That’s why we got married on 11/11, you know?” Sarper told Swooon. As she put it, “Numerology is such a big thing for me,” so learning that their wedding was the 90th was an added bonus.

For Sarper, learning that their wedding was a milestone for the franchise was a major win. Sarper confessed, “When we learned that [our wedding] was [the] 90th, I said, ‘Oh, my God, I’m normal. I never won anything in [the] lottery throughout my life. That’s the first time I won something.”

However, Sarper isn’t convinced their accomplishment will gain them world record book notoriety anytime soon. He joked, “When a person looks back and says, ‘What was the 90th wedding on 90 Day Fiancé?’ If such a psycho comes out and says that, it will be us.”
