Denise Richards’ & Aaron Phypers Split as He Files for Divorce After Nearly 7 Years of Marriage

Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers have called it quits. He filed for divorce from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum on Monday, July 7, listing their date of separation as July 4, according to TMZ. Phypers listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
The estranged couple started dating in 2017 and tied the knot in Malibu on September 8, 2018, so they were married for nearly seven years at the time of the separation.
In addition to filing for divorce, Phypers is also seeking spousal support from Richards, whom he believes is making $250,000 a month. By Phypers’ estimation, he and Richards spend about $105,000 per month. The pair never had children together, although there are reports that he adopted Richards’ now 14-year-old adopted daughter, Eloise, in 2019.
The pair never confirmed whether the adoption was actually made official, but Phypers previously told People, “It wasn’t even a decision. It is just is. She’s a sweetheart. I love her. I think of her as my own.”
This is the second divorce for both Richards and Phypers. She finalized her divorce from Charlie Sheen, with whom she shares two adult daughters, in November 2006. Meanwhile, Phypers was previously married to Nicollette Sheridan. They tied the knot in December 2015 and split just six months later, although their divorce wasn’t finalized until the month before he wed Richards.
Richards and Phypers met at his Malibu healing center when she came in for a “preventative DNA repair.” Their marriage was documented on RHOBH, and they continued to give insight into their relationship on Denise Richards & Her Wild Things earlier this year.
“My husband was very supportive,” Richards told TV Insider of her decision to let cameras in and film the show. “He’ll support anything I want to do.”
On an episode of the show, Richards admitted, “It’s not easy being married to me,” but she and Phypers both insisted that divorce wasn’t an option. “I’m never getting divorced again,” Richards said. “Even if we hate each other. I’m not gonna f**king get divorce.” He added, “We’ll just have different homes or something. But we’re not going to hate each other.”
