Carême brought the heat in 2025. The delicious Apple TV+ series about the rise of the talented (and undeniably sexy) Antonin Carême (Benjamin Voisin) recently wrapped its first season with a number of twists, mainly when it comes to Carême’s romantic entanglements.

At the end of the season, Agathe (Alice Da Luz) learns that she’s pregnant with Carême’s child, and he refuses to leave her and his child behind. This meant breaking Henriette’s (Lyna Khoudri) heart in the process, which led her straight to Fouché (Micha Lescot) to work as his spy. Months later, Carême and Agathe are busy getting ready to open up his patisserie when he learns that he’s been drafted into the military.

In the envelope with his draft letter is the ring he gave to Henriette when they had planned to run away together. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. With war looming, a baby on the way, and a rogue Henriette, Voisin discussed a potential Carême Season 2.

“I hope that the people who will have an opportunity to watch the show will really embark on this beautiful journey and production that Apple TV+ and Martin Bourboulon and the other directors, Matias Boucard and Laïla Marrakchi, have put together,” Voisin told Swooon. “This is so ambitious, having the period reconstitution, seeing what 1800s Paris looked like, and really tackling this task of talking about the life of the rich and powerful. We wanted to dwell on a small story that would make history into an even bigger story. If people have a good time with Season 1, then I hope so.”

Voisin acknowledged that Carême and Henriette’s relationship remains complicated, to say the least. Their evolution went from “two characters who love each other madly” to “almost enemies.” However, he noted that “there’s still a lot of tenderness between the two.”

That tenderness and feeling between Henriette and Carême is ripe for exploration in a second season. “Would Henriette be ready to kill Carême? I don’t think so. And conversely, maybe we’ll ask ourselves that in Season 2. I don’t know, but I think there are limits to the rage that you can see at the end of the season. But at any rate, it’s interesting to see the disappointment, the disgust, the anger.”

Carême certainly has his hands full in and out of the kitchen with this love triangle. As for Da Luz, she opened up about Agathe’s true feelings for Carême. She said they have a “love based on friendship and based on being soulmates and being two best friends and more like two people who found each other.”
