Bachelor Nation
‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Do You Like the New Theme Song? (POLL)

Bachelor in Paradise is finally here, but the beach is looking and sounding a little different this year…
ABC’s The Bachelor spinoff, Bachelor in Paradise, returned this summer for its tenth season. While Bachelor Nation was thrilled to see its most beloved show return after a two-year hiatus, what premiered on July 7 was completely different from previous seasons. Now that the second episode of the show has aired, Bachelor in Paradise has revealed the answer to the question everyone has been asking: Did they change the theme song?
Short answer: No, the Bachelor in Paradise theme song is still “Almost Paradise” by Mike Reno of Loverboy and Ann Wilson of Heart for the movie musical Footloose.
Long answer: Yes, the Bachelor in Paradise theme song did change. It is now a remix of “Almost Paradise” that has a completely different vibe from the original love ballad.
However, the genre switch-up of the show’s signature theme song is not the only difference between previous seasons’ intros and the Season 10 revamp. What separates Bachelor in Paradise from other summer dating shows like Love Island USA is the fact that BiP contestants are only pulled from previous seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. While that does make tuning into a Bachelor Nation show a little more difficult for franchise newbies, pulling from previous contestants allows the show to be incredibly self-aware, especially when it comes to how they introduce their daters.

Kelsey Weier (Season 7) and Kat Izzo (Season 10) / Hulu
During previous seasons, the Bachelor in Paradise theme song featured short clips of each contestant doing something that referenced their time on their respective season. If they didn’t do anything that notable during their season, the contestants still find something silly to do as they usher in their new dating era. A great example of this is Kelsey Weier from Peter Weber‘s season of The Bachelor. For the theme song, she was filmed opening a bottle of champagne, referencing the fan favorite moment from her time on Peter’s season, commonly referred to as champagne-gate. If you were someone tuning into Bachelor Nation for the first time, we could see how this inside joke-filled intro might be a little confusing.
As of Season 10, the revamped theme song of Bachelor in Paradise features clips of contestants walking into focus and posing for a camera. This can be seen in the image of Season 10 contestant Kat Izzo above. While this was reminiscent of the previous seasons, much like the rest of the show, it is certainly different. However, something can be said for the show providing a more neutral intro to their contestants, presenting the cast in less of an “if you know, you know” style.
